This is a screenshot of my quake2 configuration with my pak, which I created using some of the contents of DaHanG's pak and sean's pak. I'll post it on my site one of these days if anyone's interested in downloading it.

titties - the pak doesn't have much to do with it, although it does appear different slightly with the pak he was using.. mostly it's just gl_picmip 5, but correct my if im wrong py :>

you have to have a really junk computer to have to run no textures to get good fps. that must suck, would pretty much be pointless to play imo.

Actually toned down graphics makes the game smoother and gives you the edge regardless of how fast your computer is. I went through every command in r1q2/quake2 for maximum performance. the only thing my pak changes is it takes out most of the chaingun sound for more performance, eliminates the machinegun sound, changes the rail sound for better performance and uses better male/female/cyborg skins. My pak and config can be found on another thread that I posted about paks and configs.

I can guarantee you get the same amount of fps as I do with hi-res graphics. I considerably doubt your performance increases enough where taking such a large chuck of the game out is worth it.

Your Q2 makes me wanna....
