The finalists of the Quad Damage tourney at QuakeCon 2007 played through all 4 of the Quakes: qw/q2/q3/q4
This is the q2dm1 game from the final. Recommended pov is Fox, but if you want to see a struggeling professional quakeplayer, check out toxic's pov

It's a bit weird seeing them play q2, but you can tell they are good players.

Fox nailed down the dm1 fundamentals pretty well here: Realizes that RG is a long-distance sniping weapon, knows that armor/mega control and gathering outweighs pursuing a low-health opponent and losing map position, and that on q2dm1, crafty defense owns aggressive, anticipated offense.
Very nice CG frag ending at 5:00 mark...shows a nice cluster of awareness, aim and prediction skills.

I watched the VOD on ggl. Its pretty cool having purri comment on the game while they are playing.
He talks about the importance of sound in Q2 and points out some of the mistakes toxic makes. Like going for chain with a RL fox right there. The game looks horrible on the VOD though. Apparently no one told them about coloredlightmaps or gl_flashblend 0 (I think thats the one). Fox's movement is pretty good and you can tell he's played the game a bit.

Quake II is not 27 years old. I refuse to accept THAT much time has gone by.
