down arrow to move downward
left arrow to move left
right arrow to move right

i use mouse 1 to shoot
mosue 2 to jump
mouse 3 to crouch
other than that
x is to killmyself
1-0 are for the weapons(default)
maxfps is set to 79 anything else just dont feel right
rate 7999...same again anything else just dont feel right
i play windowed 1024x768 rez desktop 1280x1024rez

I have all default controls except...my right left keys are strafe of course ..my mouse sensitvity is turned up...mouse1=fire mouse2=jump mouse3=crouch mouse wheel up=cycle through wepaons<---this I wanna change...now that I saw how Art has his Mouse wheel down=cycle throgh items<--- this is changing too.
  As far as binds for jumping ...I do all that freehand...I couldnt bind any of that...I dont see how that works any better because of the "tweeks" that Q2 has..anywhoo I think if you wanna  get better ..its all about speed..find out how fast you can run through and still aim...and work to be faster ...speed kills as demonstrated many times by AJ
   I run windowed at 1024x768 or something...59fps<--damn my moniter to hell!   I like disco...and massages...weeee!!!

Thats pretty much it, the rest of my keys are for my big letter binds and other misc junt i may have bound down.

Something niffty for spec mode. This just makes a toggle button for spec mode and tells you, your in spec mode.

Coincidentally I also use zero aliases, never have seen the need.

My setup is as follows -

e - move forward
d - move back
s - step left
f - step right
a - duck/crouch

Left Mouse/Mouse 1 - Fire
Right mouse/Mouse 2 - Jump

Then I have like w for "use railgun", r for "use rocket launcher", t for "use super shotgun", z for "use hyperblaster", I use the default of 5 for "use chaingun", and 4 for machinegun etc.  I use spacebar for BFG, q for quad, etc.  Lets me do most anything with just my lefthand for switching, etc.

My rate is like 10k I think
Maxfps of 90
Most other things are just normal, no fancy settings.

No binds for special things for me (no rocket jumps or zooms, etc.).  

I use A S D F keys for movement, D and F being left/right.

I'm left-handed so use my right hand for the keyboard.  Space bar changes weaps.  I couldn't even tell you what the majority of default keys were set to on the keyboard because I use so few of them.

The "/" brings up Net Monitor.  F2 is the famous "Heh Heh" key.  F1 is "Camper".  F4 changes my nic to Slikkster from the du jour nic.


Question:  I've seen some of you guys posting about running in "windowed" mode.  I always thought that was slower than normal full-screen.  Am I wrong?  Is there a benefit to it?

I run 920x768 on a 1024x768 desktop. That leaves space at the bottom to monitor other apps and pull up my taskbar when needed. No, it doesn't run any slower, it would actually run faster if you were on an old enough system.

re: windowed:  Cool, thanks.  I run in a window when I'm waiting for the interminable delay to end when trying to actually log onto the server (the dreaded "Server is Full" message).  Then I toggle full-screen when joining.

I find that running in a window makes it hard to get switch apps; Q2 just doesn't want to let go of exclusivity of my mouse and keyboard, even when using alt-tab or the Windows key(s) on the keyboard.  It eventually works but only grudgingly at times.   Maybe I've got something bound keyboard-wise that's messing up my task switching.
