Pre-QuakeCon Tastyspleen Athens LAN Party

DeathStalker has provided the Athens LAN cafe, near Dallas TX, for the event.
The time is set - the days before QuakeCon - July 31 - Aug 2nd.

Ok guys, this is "the" Quake II event of the year !!!!
This is "the" Tastyspleen event of the year !!!!
You can't miss this one.
If you can't go to QuakeCon you have to try and atleast make this trip. If you are going to Qcon, the TSLAN is only 70 miles away. We have fragged together for a long time here at Tastyspleen (some of us for years). This isn't just any ole LAN Party, this is a Tasyspleen family event

And nothing has made me more proud than to be able to host this event.

It will start when the first person arrives on Tuesday morning. It will continue on through Wednesday. On Wednesday Cripple Creek BBQ will be called into service to cater our lunch. (They have the best dam BBQ in Texas). At around 10pm (or 12am) we will lock the doors to the public, after that you will also be free to bring in your own "other" drink that I cannot "publically" say. :cough: beer

Im planning on going to this lan and quakecon. Sure hope i see more people jumping at the chance to check out Deathstalker's lan arena and hang out at quakecon in dallas

Not being able to attend this is probably one of the biggest dissapointments for me for the year.

I was financially set up for it, had MORE than enough time off of work. But this whole packing up
and moving thing will eat up those funds. I will at least take solace in being able to get back
online around this time and get back to fraggin.

Everyone get demo's though! I wanna put together a movie from the event.
I promise to work on it for more than 1 night

i knew it would be a challenge, but the challenge was just too much. It is always near impossible for me to take a vacation at this time of year, and this year is no different. In fact, as important as this year was compared to the previous years, the challenges were even more abundant. i dont see any reason to get into the details on this forum, i'll talk about it in irc; but i wont be making it to the LAN party. :/ i had pretty much given up on quakecon in hopes of still making the LAN party, but it is just too much on my plate at this time.

i feel bad, and feel like i am betraying those i gave my word to that i would attend. But i have to be responsible to my job and family first darnit.

Please take lots of pictures, maybe some live webcams!

Either another year, or i am really just getting sick of even trying to attend anything july/august, perhaps another time of another year. i will make it there sometime to at least stop in and say high to the Athens LAN Arena. Sounds like a good reason to buy a motorcycle....
