Chaos DM Server

For those of you who may be interested, I got Gator to put up a Chaos mod server. You can find all you need to download/new bindings here: http://chaosdm.planetquake.gamespy.com/

Its a fun mod, loads of new weaps, new maps, and a few goodies like an anti-gravity belt and the ability to play dead.

Heres a list the new things added:

Weapons:
A crossbow that shoots regular, poison, or exploding arrows
SSG with exploding rounds
Homing missiles
A broadsword, and a chainsaw
The airgun
Poison and flash grenades
Proximity grenades (I love how they laugh and jump at people)
Laser mines (Dukie will love em)
Buzzsaw shooter

Items:
Gravity Vortex (anything within a certain radius sucked into oblivion)
Anti-gravity belt
Tech power-ups (Medic, Time Accel, Disruptor, and Amplifier)
Invisibility power-up (Ala Q1)
Turrets
Grappling hook
Flashlight (levels can now be set for dusk or complete darkness)
Personal Teleporter
Scanner

And a few more things like faking your death, kamikaze mode, the ability to kick things/people, and you can make yourself vomit  . Its also compatible with the original dm levels.

Another way to look at it... If the mod isn't running anywhere, NOBODY can play it.

If it is running, at least there's the opportunity to play it.

(Personally, I've always wanted to run a server for every quake2 mod in existence.    If I had the resources, I would.)

Chaos DM is awesome. Vortex and an exteremly original air fist baby!

About the every single mod thing, it would be nice however the only system that ever really allowed for that kind of thing was gameroom clients like the Zone. You just click 2 buttons and you have your server advertised for whatever mod you wanted. Those were the days.

I liked choas dm- map 1 rocks. it comes with botz so u can practice offline.
Nice maps, but some force you to run from the spawn to a main room where the action takes place and where the big guns are. This mod is cool for 1v1 because u can use turrets to guard certain areas.
There is a hook a jetpack and tons of cool stuff - look above. The overall atmosphere is realy nice and keeps you playing the game. Good for FFA with wicked maps en masse. Please [BTF]EyEsTrAiN make this Server reachable with goto Chaos but yeah this is so much better then the xatrix(sh.T) which only has some nice maps but not a realy different gameplay. Chaos rules or whatever.

Okay I've been in the server and the config is dreadful.  It's a pretty poor advert for the mod on the current setup.

I'm mailing Hasben{MOO} to see if he'll let me have his server config file for you to build upon.  Unless anybody else has one ofc.
