NEED HELP Configuring a Base2q server

Howdy all

My lithium server was crashing with memory errors and DLL issues.

I re created the server as a base2q standard simple quake server, but i want to customize this, and have some administration abilities.

Can someone explain DMFLAGS? Do I need to raise this number to allow more customization? Currently, I have no armor spawning on my maps.

I want to change rocket speed, rail dmg, ect. Is there a list of commands available to customize this? Also, my MOTD is not displaying? Do I need q2admin for this to work, and to administer my server as far as kicking and banning? Thank you!

Here's a description of the built-in quake2 console commands.  Search for dmflags in there...

You add the numbers together to get the setting you want.

However, default quake2 doesn't let you change rocket speed, rail damage etc.  You'll need to find a mod to be able to customize those settings.

Default quake2 has simple kicking and banning support built-in, but no MOTD.  You'll need q2admin (for ex.)  to get a MOTD.

Are there any mods besides Lithium that allow you to do that? Yet keep the original integrity of the game with standard DM maps?

Try OSP tourney.  i dont think you can adjust rocket speed, but you can adjust rail damage and have a motd.

google for OSP Tourney.  Even better, hunt down the version with gladiator bots so people will hang on the server waiting for others to join..
