AntiCheat hassles?

I've installed the R1Q2 client and have the anticheat.dll module as well.  Why does the server keep asking me to upgrade to an anti cheat client?

double click the r1q2 updater exe in your q2 dir then it will work

Actually, I believe r1ch went through quite some effort to get anticheat to work with a whole lot of legit renderers.
