WHAT?! R1Q2 set to Default OpenGL not allowed? Says unknown version of vid_ref

Ok, what the crap?  For R1Q2, if you have the video mode set to "Defaut OpenGL" (instead of R1GL), the tastyspleen servers won't allow the anticheat! D:  Now "Default OpenGL" works fine for the standard Quake2.exe (or nocheat.exe), but it's only in R1Q2.  You can even try it out yourself

The problem is that there are some PCs that I play on that have crappy video cards, and have some graphical errors in the R1GL video mode, so I have to use the standard Default OpenGL.

My guess is that you guys never even thought that anyone would be using the Default OpenGL instead of the R1GL in R1Q2

I guess all you can do in that situation is remove the anticheat.dll file from your quake2 directory, and learn to live with the nag message until you replace the renderer .dll..


None of the TS servers actually "force" you to use anticheat, but if you have it, you'll get kicked everytime unless you meet the file requirements..

edit.. re-read your post and I think I know what's up...
you might not have the exact same version of ref_gl.dll that came with the 3.20 patch..
this is the one it's lookin for.
If you leave a post at r1ch.net, (the link above) I'm sure someone will provide you with the correct version..
