Post a Mod explanation Please.

If people can give some really good insight on any particular Mod, please do so here.
If it is informative enough it will be implimented into the Training Camp Web Site with credits to you.

Example:
1. I seen tastyspleen.net::jumpmod. I had no idea what it was about. I logged on and almost got kicked for blasting people. I was like WTF ???
2. WOD, all those different grenades ??? How do i use them, how do i switch between them. ???

Pick a Mod and explane it. Give a short tuteral over it. Tell what's different about it over regular Q2. What's it's concept.

Lets see how this goes.

RA2:
Simple (and fun) mod. Shoot anyone who isn't on your team. In most servers you start with all weapons & ammo, except the BFG.
If you cannot find one, shoot your team mates in the back with the ssg, or tea-bag the ungibbed corpse of the enemy.
I would describe it as "last team standing" or if you are in a duel "last man standing".  :)

Step 1) Don't blast or grenade or rocket people :p

Jumpmod is basically jumping heh, but as long as you use only 1 alias, you complete the jump maps as fast as you can, trying to get on the leader board, and obviously number 1 in place, some maps are much much harder than others and you'll only get a completed map counted if you do it on hard team (on easy team you can store, and if you mess up, typing kill will take you back to that place, in hard you cannot.) so to conclude..

1) Goto Jump, but do not blast, grenade or rocket people to knock them off, you will almost certainly get kicked and a bad reputation.

2) If you're pretty new, try easier maps first, and do them on easy team. Type "store" to store your current place and "kill" or "recall" to return if you mess up

3) If you're stuck, most people will help you if you say you are stuck on a particular jump, or want to learn how to do it.

4) Try on hard team, complete maps as fast as possible and progress your ranking.

5) Act extremely immature and spam useless random shit in the server ot annoy the shit out of everyone. When they vote to kick you, and you get kicked, make a condump and cry to console on the TastySpleen forums about it.

I think that the way the mod is setup, it doesn't allow you to do half to most of  that stuff mentioned in #1.

if you complete a map, any projectile weapon (except GL i think..) you can use. cuz thats how you get your times, by picking up a weapon or item at the end of a map.

Sorry I haven't replied back in this thread in a while, been very busy as of late. :)
I do have a few questions before I start impementing these into the official Camp's Website though.

UUD-40: I like the sound of this, but as a nOOB would read this, it just isn't enough detail to form a good idea of it's concept and inner workings. Could you elaberate a little more, ive played it and i've read your post here and i'm still confused.

Oopps.. :) Oh yea tend to get hooked up on them nade's...
1.Blaster..Shots alternate red or blue laser. /..Flaregun..Uses power cells.Sticks to player and burns em.....
2.Regular Shotgun.. Sets player on fire (5 sec's)/ Sniper Gun (Splat) Like a railshot needs some skill cause of slow reload time..leaves no trail../ Disruptor.. Pooof turns you into atoms..
3.Super ShotGun..Uh Hmm..I know this 1. A direct hit will knock a player outa the map../ Freeze Gun.. Freezes Player ..Good pay back weapon..(bind k "taunt") hehheh..
4.Machine Gun..Has rapid fire or burst mode fire./ Razor Gun..Shoots sharp pointy Flechetts..
5.ChainGun..Usual Fire../ StreetSweeper...Total Noob Spammer...
6.Grenade Launcher..Pops out your selection of grenades./ Grenade Bazooka. Launches much further Grenades...
7.Rocket launcher..Shoots a Fire Rocket can be Laser Guided../Speed Rocket.. Less Splash damage..
8.IR Laser ..Microwaves your enemies.../ Tesla Gun.. Shoots out a lightning bolt.Use caution around liquids..
9.Railgun. Has faster dis/recharge times./ Deathray.. Shoots rolling ball of flame much splash damage.
Also Mod has air strike marker or nuke device..Push/Pull tractor beam . Regular throw fire grenades. Decoy option.

Hook options are straight or tarzan type no see rope..(Harder to see where hook is coming from
or target player using hook).

These weapons are evolved from all of the Wod mods from 5 series thru 7.. Also in Wod 8 which is somewhat detuned.. More team player oriented (has many voice commands/sound files)..

Awakening II:

Awakening II is a partial conversion for Quake 2 that adds 12 new weapons and 6 new powerups, replacing most of the vanilla Q2 ones to bring a fresh new feel to the game. There are also a whopping 28 new levels available to play on.

There are four gameplay modes available:
DeathMatch / FFA
This is the standard DM game that we all know and love -- it's every fragger for themselves. The player who is the current scoreboard leader will have a halo model floating above their head (if enabled on the server). Feel free to pick on them!


Capture-The-Flag
The classic ThreeWave version of this game. Attack the enemy base, grab their flag, then take it back to your base. Team-DeathMatch

Levels are played twice, with each team taking a turn to be the attacking and defending side. The mission objectives are different for each level; an example might be infiltrating the defenders' base and destroying a vital piece of equipment.


All modes apart from Assault can be played on standard Quake2 maps, so you can use the mod straight away with your favourite levels.

And if there's no one on the servers to play with, just add a few of the built-in customisable bots for instant mayhem!

Features include a Grappling Hook (both standard and off-hand), voting for game / weapon / item settings, various chase-cam views, and official match setup.

Turrets can be added to maps -- very useful for team games like CTF and Assault. They can be remotely-controlled by players, as well as being set to automatically track and shoot members of the opposing team.

Server admins have been given control over a wide range of game aspects, so you can set up your server just the way you and your players like it. Configuration files can also be executed from within the game, allowing different game types to be run quickly and easily.

Servers can use multiple map lists with no limit to the number of entries in each. Maps can be played from a list sequentially or randomly.

Operator status can be granted to players so that they can perform basic server and match admin tasks remotely, without needing to know the rcon password.

Client slots can also be reserved so that your regular or match players are guaranteed to get a place on the server.
