What is the most fun you have ever had with idiots in quake2?

I remember a couple years ago, a clan called PIT used to make their rounds. They would jump into a server with their own skin and camp to high heaven. What I used to do is go in and rename my one of my skins to theirs so they thought I was one of them, go into the rail room on edge and watch them circle jerk each other for a couple minutes, then rail their lame asses.

They would then go back in and I would do it again. After a couple times they would catch on and change their skin again, so I would go rename mine and the fun would start all over again.

When I moderated the codedelta quake2 server, I would just have fun muting and kicking them. I would never ban them though, that would ruin the fun.

What is your story to share?

When I was an admin over at the now defunct games.velocity.net I used to have a little fun too.  There was a no camping policy in place and certain players could never understand this concept.  So to help them along a little I would change their mouse 1 bind from fire to kill! They would line someone up, pull the trigger and sit there all wtf!! How did I die? LMAO, Ah, the good old days.

Hehe! One of the PIT guys was on the DM server last night (I believe there are only 2 of them).  He's currently called ChunkOD. He was spouting off as usual. Good to laugh at though.

On the BTF Euro1 server, a collossal retard came in spouting crap and interuptting games, basically being an ass because of me (he has this personal thing against me), so at first I bound the following to my +attack key "bind mouse1 +attack; rcon kick Om3ga", then he caught on and changed his name, kept being a dick so I stuffed him the "unbindall" command, hahaha it took him 10 minutes to figure out what had happened xD, some may argue that's admin abuse but bear in mind we're talking about someone who got g-lined from ETG for talking about himself raping children and doing other sick shit. :\

On a tastyspleen server, that would be admin abuse--unless the victim were caught cheating or was disrupting the game so much that he was about to be banned and had already been warned, muted, etc.

Certainly tastyspleen admins are not allowed to use rcon to settle personal grudges.

My point here is simply that maybe we need to make it more obvious that not all servers in the 'goto' list are tastyspleen servers.  We try to cultivate a reputation for having level-headed, non-dickish admins... I wouldn't like to see that reptuation tarnished, besmirched, or otherwise desecrated, dishonored, profaned, tainted or polluted (*thank you, thesaurus.com) by incidental association with servers people think are tastyspleen but are really not.

Understood, and of course, I apologise for doing it (not to Om3ga, could'nt care less unfortunately) and i'm aware I should not have done it, regretted it after but it was, as the thread says - "The most fun you have ever had with idiots" at the time.. I will refrain from using rcon anymore whenever possible.

I might note however, that I did warn him several times (as far as I recall) to be quiet and quit disrupting the games, at the time the mute thing you coded was not available, and I did not wish nor know how to ban.

Oh, this was awhile ago? 

For some reason I thought it was recent (i.e. more recent than his ETG ban.)


BTW... I'm not campaigning for sainthood or anything... It's a helluva lot of fun to mess with cheaters and such...

Awhile back I constructed various stuffs that would freeze the cheater's controls, play raucous sounds out their speaker, spam some message in their console and spin them around in circles until they have to kill their q2 process with the Task Manager. 

I gotta admit, it's fun to do that stuff to people who deserve it ...

I used to have a FFA clan that I started with my best friend irl called DFX

we used to spam things like "FUCK YOUR MOTHER" over and over and we only recruited people that were gifted at flaming others and spawn camping, that is the most fun ive ever had with some idiots

PIT was/is a cool clan, along with GoW, although with quadz ts spawn protection kind of terminated their style of gameplay
