Question about ping

Over the years I've played Q2 within a range from 17 to 300+  There are big differences in the gameplay, obviously.  But you can still have fun with a 200+ ping, especially if you take it for what it is. There are even some advantages (small ones  ) when playing the low pingers. Join and play often enough and you will get used to your "handicap".

there is, however quake2 coop sucks, its way too easy as it is for one player 

you just need a coop server, but quake2 coop is buggy and crashes afaik

i would also recommend to anyone who loves quake to have a copy of OPS Tourney with Gladiator Bots, and Eraser Bots.

Gladiator is tougher to find, but offers more, Eraser is much more stable and easier to use.

They are good to have around for when you lose an internet connection, or if you just have a crappy one.  They will never replace a human foe, but they are great for still keeping you in the game.

Oh. I've done it over LAN and it isn't buggy like that, from what I can tell...

Stupid internet stuffs ruining my co-op-ness fun.



And when I played over LAN, I died constantly, even on medium. Though that was mainly due to my 14 yeard old sister having a super shotgun and not knowing how to avoid shooting me....

Playing with pings in the 200-300 range is easily doable, just don't expect to run the board, play your game and have fun.

Although I used to easily ping in the high 200's (and sometimes still do) I gotta confess that over the last year or so I have been getting my ping in the 125-160 range (on dialup )
