Hi!


I dont no what went wrong with mine or even if it was included in the installation but ive got a sweet map on the go but the problem is i dont have ne of the .EXE files like TXQBSP3.EXE and stuff so a beg n e one that has these files can u plz post the zip if on this topic

i cant run my map until i have those for a trial

Hi there. It seems like the compilers are no longer included with the newer versions of Quark. Here you go -buildq2-latest

Just extract the qbsp3.exe, qvis3.exe and arghrad.exe to (eg.) your Quark folder. Then in Quark, go to 'Options' > 'Configuration...'
On the left, select Quake2 from the Games and then set the path for the first three Build Programs. (1st program: qbsp3.exe, 2nd program: qvis3.exe, 3rd program: arghrad.exe).

Tip for quick-testing your map without having to wait for lighting and visibility compiles. This will also come in handy if you'd like to test the map but you know the map is not yet completely closed off from the void and still has leaks.

In Quark from the menubar choose 'Quake2' > 'Customize menu...'
Select: Fastest (full bright)
In the options make sure only the first buildprogram is checked, namely qbsp3. (Uncheck the 2nd buildprogram if it's checked.) Now if the compiler cries that the map has ***leaked***, you can still force Q2 to run the leaked map if you choose 'Quake2' > 'Run Quake2'.

Of course when you think the map is done you will have to stop the map from leaking, otherwise the map will not be correctly compiled and optimized.
