The last days there has been a lot of just spamming in a lot of threads, and console did a good job putting some of those threads to the Entropy section. Somehow all the threads start to look exactly the same after reading the first page or two. Not saying that people shouldn't use the forum, just that when 10 threads looks exactly the same maybe it should ring a bell somewhere

And that being said, use the quoting with some thought, it's not necessary to quote in every post you make. If you reply to a post made earlier in the thread or want to point out something mentioned in the previous thread it's ok to quote, but I don't see that much reason to quote the entire previous post when answering that, or make these long chains of qoutes. Just quote the text that actually is worth quoting Just an idea to stop these threads from being totally unreadable for slow people like myself.

Hmm, how to deal with shittalkers is pretty intresting actually. It would be fun to go into depth about the whole concept of the shittalking on internet. But when it comes to q2 and shittalkers I've always distanced myself from it. I've never been much of a shittalker myself and never will, allthough I can make sarcastic comments (which I use even more so in real life where sarcasm is easier), but mostly to people I know can take it (banes for instance) or complete morons (hmm, tempting to say banes again <3). Allthough I find it pretty amusing seeing people act it up on IRC or servers or forums or wherever. I take it as a cheap form of entertainment, and get a good laugh here and there. Not really intellectually challenging/satisfying that often, allthough nothing is more fun than people completely destroy any arguments made by the other part, and ridicule him that way, so the only way left for him is to shittalk about the other guys mother or penis size or his sexual oritentation or mention something about real life.

I know people take great pleasure from talking thrash on the net, and won't say they are all bad persons. Some can do it with a sense of humor and distance, while others are plain and simple just hot headed and takes things way too personal. What is most entertaining/annoying for the outsiders I'm not sure of. And there is a limit to how much shittalking one can take, and in what situations it's accepted. In a public pickup game I don't mind it, but when it comes into more serious tourney games and actually affect the whole tourney things can get really frustrating (read all about it on q2players in one of my columns). Anyway, keep it up.

they both can be a thorn in the side.. but the people from the TDM scene that came over here are all decent (except adrenal1ne of course) and I'm happy to see some of my old Q2 friends playing and having fun.  Like the good old days.

Cheating is one thing, shittalking is just plain annoying.  My feeling is if you're going to be an ass, at least try to make me laugh.  I already know that I don't have skillz, that you own me, or I'm ghey.  I know this because it's the same crap I've been hearing all the way since MPlayer was around.   Nobody likes playing in a game where there is an unsufferable jagov who won't shut his/her fucking pie hole.  If I get involved it's usually because they've pointed their stupid shit my way.  And most of the time I end up ignoring them or leaving.
