I know this tourney isn't even near done...but I figured I start a thread about different tourney's we could have in the future. Here are a few I thought up:

Hand Grenade only 1vs1 (I think pantaloons would love this one

)
No health, armor, or powerups 1vs1
2vs2 tourney
Rail only 1vs1
Rocket only 1vs1
3vs3 tourney
Manhunt: 4vs1 Ladder at Sheridan (still thinking about how this one might work)
CTF tourney??? (dunno if that would work)

Just a few ideas, feel free to elaborate on these or come up with something else.

I believe that 1on1 Rail would be the most popular due to our large number of Rail-Freaks at Tastyspleen.

Teamplay also would be really interesting, but less signups.

why not just make it an ra2 tourney

i was thinking of an edge only 1v1 tourney, this will not determine who is the best at 1v1 by any means, but this is one of the most "controversial" (lol) maps there is, think about it, some refuse to play it, while others consider it the best 1v1 map ever made, most people learn to play 1v1 on the edge, if you go to tourney servers, the map is usually on the edge, this will be for bragging rights of who is the best on this most sacred map

of course alot of newbs will furiously detest such a tourney, they dont have to join

, obviously only the best 1v1ers should join this tournament, and people shouldnt bother if theyre new to the edge, plus it would be a quick tourney too this way, can do it in a day like clutch gaming tourney

Never heard of it, but i love the sound of a grenade tourney, lol, i need to set up a grenade server. in fact i will go do that right now, GRENADE ONLY SERVER at 68.56.122.202:27950

2v2 / 3v3 would be awesome, make some posts at q2players.org and youd get an alright turn out, it would be a lot of fun.

Never tried Kick - Sounds like a load of fun

In the same spirit as CTF. Jailbreak was a great Mod - used to play it when it came out, it truly delivers great sensation of Teaming (when freeing them) and needs good strategical thinking.

but unfortunately these Mods needs lot of people, who can play at same time....

I'd say go for 2v2, it's hard to find decent maps for 3v3 but 2v2 can be done on almost all the duel maps and it's almost as easy as 1v1 to schedule. And it's a good introduction to the teamplay world, teaming up 2v1 is one of the universal tactics in teamplay. Or go with 4v4 of course, but it requires some more dedication finding a team and get games scheduled as there are 8 people needing to be on at the same time and not just 2 (as in 1v1). Maybe even have a smaller maplist like 3 maps, all 3 which are not so known as q2dm1, ztn2dm3 and q2dm3, to prevent the die hard tdm players to lock down maps all too easy. What maps would of course be discussed, and should be tested some before decided upon. I don't know, just think that will even out the playingfield some as people have played teams/1v1 on q2dm1 for 8 years or so now

Anyway, a completely different mod/gameplay would be nice too. Rail only 1v1 would never attract me, it's all ping in my eyes, and then the serverdiscussions would drag from here to eternity

Kick would be great, play some catch the chicken or some other mod where the funfactor is dominant.

But I'd rather see another go on the 1v1 tourney, with different maps this time around, as the scheduling and activity here seems to be very good. Use that for what it is worth

Also, something else to keep in mind is to do this toruney not so close to vacation time. (some drops for that, and maybe more drops coming).....

1vs one no armor no powerups sounds good, so does rail 1vs1 and team rail, and team dm could go as far as 4vs4 on the bigger maps..weee!So many ideas!

Please everyone, feel free to post what Tourney you'd like to see next. As this thread will bear a great importance and practically shape up the Poll that will come in order to vote next Tourney Type. (Poll will start somewhere around the Quarter-finals/Semis).
