Didn't bother reading the previous pages, so sorry if this has been suggested

What about a rocket launcher only tourney? The RL is such a unique weapon and the skill set for using it is so different from the other weapons. Blaster doesn't sound fun, grenades I think would get boring fast (for me at least), MG/CG no waaay, shotgun is all aim, rail is all aim, hyper blaster... not exciting... Grenade launcher would be kind of cool, but very spammy.

Rocket launchers anyone?

that would be awsome.. depending on how the weapon/ammo is setup, it could end up just as spammy as GL though.. id still play, would be a ton of fun

CTF would be GREAT!!!!!

I would love to play in a CTF tourney, takes more strategy than TDM imo, and it's a lot of fun

there are a few demos on q2players.org that everyone should check out for an interesting look at quality capture the flag strategy

yeah we should definitely meet up and scrimmage, it is a lot of fun....

bleach, you're right - we'd need at least four players a team and that would be pretty difficult I think... maybe not the ideal next tournament.

I really miss ctf though, it was the first mod I ever really played and my first clan was into it. And the strat is really interesting to me. Good strat can give your team a really significant advantage over the other team that you can't overcome with good aim. You have to take specific people out! Anyways, if we can't get a tourney going we should still try to have some scrimmages and relearn all this stuff

if it was done like udml, with plenty of subs and whatnot it would be cool shit.. but we would need like everyone playing quake to join in if it was gonna be a decent size tourney

Hmmm, it was my understanding that 4on4 is how ctf is "officially" played (it's how we played it in the past in our clan matches). Of course there's no "official" anymore so we could do whatever, but 5 would be really difficult to get everyone to show and keep teams alive. We're currently doing the udml league with 4s so we'll see how that works out and see if a ctf tourney is plausible. Would be fuuun

Im down for Weekly-Biweekly rendez-vous where we can fill up the server and play some nice CTF until the server crashes!

Not sure if we'd get enough interested people for a league though.

I was thinking of some future ideas for the tournament. why dont we have more than just dm 1vs1, tdm ? we could have other shit like railz only bracket, ctf (like adam said) or what ever many people play besides 1vs1 and tdm. It could raise up the participation!
