hmm, gamespy refreshes to about the same amount of servers, but only 205 appear to be active, and only 7 of the 20 or so TS servers show up.

That's why I already suggested (in another recent thread) (console, do you listen? hehe) some additional q2 master servers, to be used as a setmaster command in one's server config file.

That still doesn't explain why Gamespys master server only shows 7 TS servers.

I'd like for the users of ASE, Xfire, and any other game browser to list the master servers they use, so I can add'm to gamespy if it doesn't already use'm.

Do you know for sure that gamespy's master server still works? (master0.gamespy.com:28900)
If I add it to xqf (of if I use it with different tools, such as qstat or gslist) and query the master, it returns zero results!

Hmm, I believe you're right. I use GS3D (registered) also and occasionaly clean the list up by deleting all inactive servers after a refresh. Evidently, it hasn't been picking up any new ones for quite some time. That must be why my server list has dwindled, and also explains why I only had 7 TS servers. Those 7 TS servers also happen to be the earliest ones. It must have gone offline sometime last year cause the goatass server was in there as well. Well sorry, bad information on my part(oops). May be time for me to switch browsers.

Oh, I realized the problem was that the location of servers weren't shown (flag is missing) on a whole lot of servers. And after reading on the forum (http://ase.staticservers.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3) it doesn't look very promising. Looks like Allseeing Eye is sorta dropped dead by yahoo >;(

My Xfire brings me up 266/268 Q2 servers

I definitely have 600-700 on ASE.  This does include all mods though.

I don't understand how these search engines work.  Those missing flags are frustrating on ASE, and missing servers is really annoying.

I got annoyed by the current version of All-Seeing Eye and its inability to properly resolve countries. So I fixed it. Hopefully someone else finds this useful .
