Author Topic: Allseeing eye serverlist (Read 7268 times)

I have been using allseeing eye since forever (or so it seems), but I had left it untouched ever since I installed it. But now that I've formatted my windows drive, and reinstalled Allseeing eye (now owned by yahoo it looks like

), I don't seem to be able to see a lot of servers I used to see on the serverlist before.

For instance tourney4 and the jumpmod server wont show on my list, a lot of servers in Europe (don't see any Swedish/Finnish servers anymore) and even some in Australia (OGN) wont show up on the list.

Now I'm not an expert on Allseeing eye, and I've just added Tourney4 to my "favorites" folder, but it's not the same as it wont show up with the rest of the "teamplay" servers when refreshing the list $:-\$

Just wonder why those servers showed up before, but not since I reinstalled Allseeing eye >;(!

I've used ASE for a couple of years now also and can see all the servers I wish to see, including the full complement of Tastyspleen offerings. I know not to upgrade now, thanks.....

And YES - I DO want to TRY the program for 7 more days !!

Yeah, basicly the only servers with decent ping for me are the tasty servers. So as long as I see them using my game browser I'm happy. Cept shitty ass gamespy crashes once ran 60% of the time. Greaaaaaaat software.

well even though I still use ASE, on occasion, I've pretty much switched over to using xfire.
google it up and download...

it's free, it's pretty easy to configure, and it works with every game I've ever played online.
Every server you could want will show up too.
It also doesn't ask you to register it every day for the rest of your life.

the only problem I've had with xfire is that it will try to autoupdate every week or so, and if you've got a firewall,
that's not configured to let it thru, it will not work automatically.
(IOW you'll have to download the newly updated version manually)

oh, I'll give xfire a shot then. I've been a huge fan of ase since I got it, but now I'm a bit frustrated with it to be completely honest

Xfire is the only one for me !!!
Not only can you connect right through the server, you can also chat through it as well.
It brings up more servers for me than Qcracker or NoSeeingEye.

How many active q2 servers do these browsers report ?

My Xfire brings me up 266/268 Q2 servers

All of Ds. Madhouses
All of TastySpleens
Overseas ones.
All of them, if there is a server out there, it will find it.

Also you can organize them by ping, country of origin, you name it.
It even keeps up with your favorites, and recently visited.

hmm, gamespy refreshes to about the same amount of servers, but only 205 appear to be active, and only 7 of the 20 or so TS servers show up.

That's why I already suggested (in another recent thread) (console, do you listen? hehe) some additional q2 master servers, to be used as a setmaster command in one's server config file.

i.e.

setmaster masterserver.exhale.de netdome.biz

I use the game server browser "xqf" under Linux, and it wouldn't show ANY tastyspleen server, because all the usual master servers appear to be dead!

The above two master servers don't know anything about tastyspleen - I only have tastyspleen servers in my xqf server list because I added them manually.

So in order to make more people know about tastyspleen servers, it would really be nice to add these master servers... :-)
