there are other reasons, besides CO2 emissions, why we might measure a higher rate of temperature change. you have the urban heat island effect, the chopping down of forests, inaccurate measurements, etc. if CO2 has a significant effect, satellites should be measuring higher temperatures as well. not that i believe the earth has never warmed this fast; who knows, how many ice core samples do we have? does one measure the earth's average temperature from one location? how do you show CO2 significantly increases temperature? what about factoring in other causes when we can't measure their effect? not to mention we don't know what to expect naturally. you keep showing me a graph of CO2 and temperature, isn't it obvious temperature would dictate CO2 levels. there are so many other factors that dictate temperature, and CO2 levels always seem to vary with the temperature. how are you determing CO2 alters temperature significantley? seems to me the professor of atomopheric science from MIT had the right attitude.

my take: The earth is getting warmer? Oh bummer! You mean I won't freeze my ass off in the morning while I wait for my car to warm up which in turn makes me late for work and frozen? Damn, fuck global warming.... I'll take the cold!

hah no thanks... I embrace global warming (even if it is a crock of shit to begin with).

So after the warming we get the 'big freeze' right? ok ill be dead by then, don't care.

well, we've already figured out how to poke a hole in the ozone layer to admit more heat, so I think we might have countermeasures when it comes time for the big freeze.. We'll just go back to using r-22 in our air conditioners and spraying cans of hair-net at the sky..

The temperature increased .6 degrees Celsius from 1975-2005, a 30 year period. The primary focus should be on this rather than a 100 year period because humans have had a far more significant impact on the environment with more recent times. And no, the IPCC does not say the earth will be (definitely like you imply) 8 degrees warmer in 2050.

I mentioned specifically is more to global warming than CO2.

Chopping down of trees is clearly the result of humans doing it.

Urban heat island effect has negligible impact on global average temperature.

Inaccurate measurements is not an argument. You need to provide counter-evidence rather than saying simple, undisputed recording techniques from the earth are inaccurate.

in my opinion there are to many unknowns. there's many factors that change temperature, and no one can deduce how big of a role CO2 plays.
