Gotta love it when people besides the Church of Satan are making headlines with the term "Satanist", all the while making a fucking joke of themselves. Why do people tolerate this shit being on TV? TURN THE FUCKING CHANNEL! I was flipping past Fox News the other day. Like an idiot, I paused on it long enough to witness Bill O'Rielly talking shit about Lil Wayne and how he's corrupting the youth, yadayadayada, same shit different day. Now I'm not a fan of Lil Wayne at all. Never heard his music, but I'm pretty sure I'd fucking despise the shit out of it. Then it occurred to me the only logical conclusion one could draw from that dialogue is that he was insinuating that we should all band together and ban evil violent ghetto rap music like what Lil Wayne puts out to corrupt our youth. Sure, we could do that today... and then TOMORROW he'd be back on the air bitching about how banning Lil Wayne's music is shitting all over the 1st amendment rights of everyone in America.

Have we really become this fucking stupid as a species that we prefer entertainment and contrived controversy to actual education about FACTS when it comes to current events in the world? It's pretty retarded when the only place you can reasonably count on to get REAL NEWS in television format from is your local news affiliate. All of the 24hr news networks have become a fucking freak show run by the criminally insane.

Thank God I know that one day I'm eventually gonna die and not have to exist on this shitty fucking planet anymore. I dunno that I could stomach having to live for all eternity in a world where the stupidity factor perpetually rises.

I actually watched the whole thing.

Pretty ridiculous. Ken Ham insinuates that because no one was around to personally observe that the laws of nature have remained unchanged, that there is a possibility that they could have magically changed. For example... the earth is around 4,000-6,000 years old, yet there are stars observable in the sky that are much older than that and it would take longer than 6,000 years for their light to reach our eyes. Basically he insinuates that it's possible that the speed of light could change. Then later he's questioned about plate tectonics and continental drift, and he says that just because we currently observe the slow speed at which land moves due to plate shifting doesn't mean it isn't possible that it moved much faster at an earlier date. That is a BIG one. If his explanation were to be assumed, it would also be assumed that the magnitude of the earthquakes made by such radical plate movements would've caused every volcano on earth to simultaneously erupt and it would've destroyed all life on the planet. In which case... this debate would've never happened at all and we're obviously just a bunch of ghosts living in a computer program and we think we're actually living breathing human beings but we're completely deceived by our limited perceptions and matter doesn't actually exist at all.

Bill Nye wins. Flawless victory.

I'd watched most of the debate on youtube last night.

I kind of wish Bill Nye had been able to see those audience questions beforehand. There are so many slam dunks available when refuting young earth creationist claims, and Nye hit a few of them, but sometimes seemed to get bogged down in digressions that I felt probably weren't connecting with the audience.

But, I haven't seen what I presume will be the audience Q&A part of the video yet, so we'll see how that goes.
