He might believe there are more interpretations, but he seems to not talk about any of them.  The more thinking I've done about the subject, the more I believe that God should not be equated with an "invislble man" like he would say, but rather just the concept of intelligent design.  Thinking about it this way, many of the biblical verses make sense.

the humor is based mostly on people believing things blindly and literally - like the Ten Commandments, or that the earth is 6,000 years old.  he's entitled to his opinion, and it seems many don't find his comedy to be "bad humor".   personally I believe in some type of god, but still find him very funny.

"...For this sums up the laws of the prophets" You forgot that part. Remember that all of the commandments were not laws to punish but were given as an instruction manual for those 2 ends. Follow them and that will be the end result.


Good post but I came here for a different reason.


There's a low budget action horror movie out there that honestly 100% has a strong christian message behind it. It's called "The Other Side" and it's 100% about going through the Son to get to the Father through forgiveness. It's like the braindead creators of "See No Evil" and "Wrong Turn 2" were out taking a whiz and a director that had the true intention of understanding religion and culture (instead of spitting on it for a cheap joke) gave Christianity his best shot.

It is low budget as I said and the acting although it isn't bad, has spots. However, it has some amazing lines, the coreography for the action was pretty good, and the monsters were really interesting. The monsters basically were an action version of "The Fallen" except with a few twists. This movie had absolutely everything from drama, to action and it was all spot on. But what took it from pretty good to amazing was it's accurate portayal of the message.

I used to assume Jesus was probably a person who actually existed, some sort of enlightened counterculture figure, and subsequently the myth simply subsumed the man.  But a different case is made by the above: that Jesus simply likely never existed in fact (even as a person.)

i really don't care either way, i know it's one or the other.  there's also no convincing these lunatics.

Some people can't accept the logic that what makes us believe in god rest on what they believe in, they can parade around science as if there is enough of it to explain how god is not real, but lets be honest, when it comes to science we know almost dick about anything--a fraction of 1% would be very nice to put it, you have a better chance of standing on the moon, throwing 40 darts at the earth and hitting a dead on bullz eye with every dart has better chances than life happening so take that into mind

Question: Why was jesus crucified?

Answers from class:

"Because jesus started converting the jews into christians and they got mad"

"Because the jews hated jesus because they didn't believe in salvation"

"Because some of the jews with political power were threatened by the power jesus had, and turned him into the Romans"

"The jews wanted jesus dead, so the roman king gave them what the people who he served wanted"

My answer:

"Because jesus claimed to be god, and people believed him. The romans considered this a disturbance in their empire so they killed him." (as far as what's actually written down, anyways, no one knows the validity of even this)

The entire class disagreed w/ me except for the teacher, lol...          Christianity

Could you elaborate further?  People seem to believe in all sorts of things, including astrology, numerolgy, scientology, santa claus, ...  (But I'm not sure what "believe in god rest on what they believe in" means?)

Has this been proven?  Does it take into account that there are estimated over 10 trillion planetary systems in the known universe around G-type stars like our sun?

(And, on a related note, should anyone be allowed to discount life happening based on probabilities, without being required to also address the probability that a hypercomplex being like god came to exist in the first place? I want to see their 40 darts example for how god came to exist. Wouldn't that be like 40 darts thrown from one end of the universe to the other?  )
