Hey guys, i found this free ladder website that was pretty easily set up so i decided to make a q2 1v1 ladder. the matches are mainly being organized at the irc channel #wabam on irc.enterthegame.com, or maybe if a few of you guys sign up you guys can organize your own matches in these forums.

All you got to do is go to http://myleague.com/wabam click on Free Signup to the left and follow the steps to sign up. Once you activated your account you will be in the unranked "pool". To view everyone else that is unranked click on Standings under The Ladder. Then, choose "unranked" in the middle drop down box. If you know someone there you can get in contact with him/her and play your match. Also if you're unranked you can challenge people in the actual ladder along with other unranked players.

It will be best two out of three 10 minute games. The person challenged gets to pick which map he/she wants to play, and the challenger picks the second map. If there is a 3rd game, the person with the most frags added up in the previous 2 games will choose the 3rd map. Make sure the server has all the maps you two choose.

Don't forget to record your games (type 'record name-opponent-wabam-map-round' or something similar in console). If an admin asks for your demo and you do not have it, you will receive the loss for that match. At the end of the match the loser reports the loss at the website under My Ladder > Report Loss. The winner of the unranked match will now go in to the actual ladder and get to challenge other players. The loser (if unranked) will have to play another player (ranked or unranked) and win to get into the ladder.

Also if you don't know anybody that is also unranked, you can click on "Formal Challenge" under "My Ladder" and type in the name of the player you want to challenge (for the list go to Standings). This will send them an email and give a deadline for the match (1 week prior). The sooner played the better.  You can also email the player by clicking on his name.

bfg on for q2dm2 / bfg off for ztn2dm2
quad off / invuln off
all the default tdm/1v1 rules on tourney/gxmod/tdm servers. (no falling damage, weapon stay off, etc)

best 2/3
Challenged player picks 1st map / challenger picks 2nd / if 3rd: player w/ most frags picks 3rd map (same maps may be picked again)

To make a challenge complete the form on the THE LADDER > FORMAL CHALLENGE link, or just find someone thats on the ladder on irc or any other messenger (including email) and ask him for a ladder match. If you challenge someone using the FORMAL CHALLENGE you two MUST play! You guys are given 1 week prior to the challenge to complete the match, if failed to do so.. you BOTH will be penalized so make sure you play!

only person who signed up in these forums was banes was hoping more would be interested. banes help me talk them into playing! it'll be fun guys i swear.. good way to practice on the maps for your tourney coming up also. here ill give everyone that signs up and plays 20 bucks

bleh remind me to never play wabam ladder high again.

I beat laurelin on the first match, fragged him twice in the last 10 seconds on the second match making it a sudden death in which he destroyed me.....and the third match was just....pathetic. I killed myself numerous times and just kept dying over and over.

:p We shoudl have some kind of server space for these demos.

You can just make a new thread in this forum and attach the demo on there, or you can go to q2players.org and upload them there also. I was thinking of making a new thread just for the wabam demos but earlier today my power supply on my pc went out and it wont turn on again (im on my mom's). So I guess I won't be playing q2 for awhile.. need to get a job and get a new pc.. I would just buy another power supply but that was my second one because the first one did the same thing.. so I think its time for a whole new computer. I'll probably just remove myself from the ladder until then.
