server suggestion

since we all loooove dm....and the spamminess good nature that comes with it...why not make a lithium server! come on man that mod is fun as hell when you just wanna screw around with the hook or be all cheap with it with runes and stuff, im sure other people would enjoy playing that mod as well since most players on here enjoy dm, well runes and hook add to that simple joy of runnin around a map and taking some heads

so what do you think console? convert good ol xquake into a lithium server? it'll still be dm, just it'll have a hook and some runes to go with it...i know the physics will prolly get fucked up....no more trick jumps BUT hook removes the need for trick jumps anyway, and if they wanna do trick jumps they should go to the tourney server....or even the vanilla or sheridan or railz or mutant so many servers! couldnt you spare one?

lithium uses airaccel thats why it may seem like the jumps are fucked up but it just takes out strafe jumping but if you know how to jump with it you can go much faster than normal strafe jumping.. and theres a few weird trick jumps with it too. i never played lithium but ive seen some demos and messed aroudn jumping with airaccel and it looks fun.. id probably play but runes are gay

Runes are OK but the hook is right up there next to the antichrist dude.....

Thanks for the info, didn't know about the air accel.  The times I've played lithium it's driven me nuts because the strafe jumping being broken.

Hey banes...

The existing servers like xquake and sheridan aren't going away... They're kind of a part of Q2 history and I hope they're around for as long as people are playing the game.

One thing that might be possible is to set up some sort of "mod vote" server.  Where players can vote for the mod they want to play (lithium, ra2, vanctf, chaos, bang, etc...) and the server will restart itself and run the mod that was chosen. . . . That might not be too heinous to code...

That is a great Idea. That way we could host some Gaming Night-Event without having to configurate another server. Fun Ahead!
