Greetings to all, i come from the console gaming world, online and off, so i'm new to the whole pc gaming thing, but not to gaming itself, i dominated x-box live on halo for while, but now it's time dominate the world of quake, i admit adjusting to the whole mouse and keyboard is quite a transition but i'll get the hang of it ,i almost wish there was a dual anolog mod for quake2 but it's ok, in due time i will hone my skills to perfection, i'm shootin for the top, i'll start out on vanilla and then move on to dm, i will not be stopped,newb is only a temporary title for me, and oh yeah i'm coming for you elysium, in due time, i'm good friends with deathstalker, but even he won't get any mercy, so i'll be seeing everyone real soon......master shake

hope you're as dedicated as you sound and i see you in tdm/1v1 soon.. remember the best way to get better is to play better players to learn and use what you learned against lower skilled players (at least it was for me)

you can use a x-box pad usb adapter for pc, i have one, and decided to try it out, very strange feeling :O but it works non-the less

i have a logitech usb gamepad that works fine for other games, never tried it for quake though.

I can't imaging that playing Quake competitively with a joystick/pad of sorts is at all possible.

i have the ps2joy usb adapter for pc, hard to get the same kind of acton with it that u can with mouse/kb

still kinda fun to mess around in ffa with it though

Welcome to Quakedom. I'm wondering why you chose Quake 2 over one of the newer, more typically chosen for their flashiness entries like Quake 3 or Quake 4? Perhaps that was deathstalker's influence.

I think you'll soon discover that a mouse versus a joystick for aiming is vastly superior. The speed at which you can move your crosshair and the increased freedom of movement allows you so much more variety in your encounters.

what's up ya'll, first of all jesusnator is very lame, i, the opposite of that rock, i'm getting the hang of the keyboard and mouse scheme now, and i'm getting better, soon i will need to join a clan, or start one, whatever comes first, i came in at #3 the other day on vanilla, not bad for a newb,huh, i'm not cocky i'm just confident, I WILL RULE ALL!
