Greetings, Salutations, &c.

I've seen more than one comment so far that the 'shout box' is an annoying feature.

If that's the general consensus, I can surely remove it.

Additional feedback would be appreciated.

My initial hope was that it would function as sort of a real-time chat box, for users currently logged into the forums, kind of like IRC. But due to technical limitations of the current implementation, it's a bit far from an actual live chat window.

So... I don't know what it is, exactly. It's not really a forums thread... it's not really a chat window... what in blazes is it? Beats me. Let me know what you think, and whether it should stay or go, or how it could be improved.

Instead of vertical maybe you could try horizontal, with 3 rows of shouts.

That would remove the void it generates.

I'm using Firefox/1.5.0.2 and I seem to only be able to successfully get a shout out after logging out then logging back in.

its cool but it keep resetting everytime and doesnt fully scroll to the bottom.. dunno im using firefox

Hmmm.. I'm using Firefox/1.5.0.2 also. I encountered that 'logging out/in' problem the first time I tried the shoutbox, but since then it's worked OK for me.

I'm really not sure I have an answer to that, ot even if it needs to be moved, I just think that it could be a little smaller, kinda like the space saving ones they have on phpnuke clan websites you know, something thats not off setting the forums header spacing as much
