Which server, OSP is finicky about some maps (causing crashes and restarts). Some maps just will not run on OSP and we cannot get teh source code as it is not open source

I saw you were on t4 when it happened, I tried it on T1 and it crashed it, so we prolly will have to delete that map. Yeah Closed Source (((((

o that sucks.. well the good news is tiskull made a conversion of that map too.. maybe you can replace the one that crashes with this one?

sweet, will give it a try, yeah we deleted ztndm3q2 and left ztndm3 as it works fine. Will try to get the one you posted put on and see how it works (after I take my neighbors money in poker LOL)

Well this is a map I have been interested in since its so popular for Quake 3.

Here is a link to a zip with all the required textures also.  I dl'ed it from tastyspleen's maps, but it was only the .bsp file in the zip.

Then it ended up on the servers...

This map does need the textures and sounds, it has textures and sounds from Quake, I actually like it better than tiskull's conversion, this one holds true to the rocket launchers and no step up to RA plus it just looks better.

I haven't seen tiskulls in awhile, but I think this version does look better.

you mean you left ztn2dm3? ya thats a whole dif map.. ztndm3 is q1's version blood run. can you put up the one i attached on the server whenever u get the chance? thx

edit: i also think the non-tiskull's versino is alot better too, and if u could get it to work on the servers without crashing that would be even better. <3

Well when I load the map ztndm3q2 it says with a number of textures: for example.

I would say thats whats crashing it...

If only I knew how to fix it I would be right on it...add some missing healths and spawn points...then it would be close to a Q1 replica.

All of those errors, Shadow, is the result of poor map-making. The spawnflags are missing commands to complete their function and the health and other items are located inside solid structures. As sloppy as they are. the map should still play because Quake 2 will just ignore them and render them non-existent.

I tried loading both naymlis's and fatty's both cause a crash at map load or client connect, will have to do some checking to see if this can be fixed as a couple of requested maps have exhibited this behavior

Hmm, weird, both versions work for me, i use vanilla ID 3.20 client. But you could perhaps contact the author of the map?
When I remember right, his name is 'Grieve' or so, he is an admin on Leray's forum, http://leray.proboards34.com .

This is an OSP issue, we had trouble when we first set these servers up for the first tourney last year, we had several maps that would crash OSP, but run fine on non-OSP servers and clients. The source code is not available so we cannot go in and fix whatever is causing this in the MOD (closed source sucks). We are still trying to figure out a workaround.
