Pretty sure I know who this guy is. High pinger who resorts to mostly camping and doorway ambush tactics when the server is more crowded, and on that map in particular when it's only a handful of people, actually moves his ass around the map a bit to collect mega, armor, and rockets for spamming... and then resorts to large amounts of spam at the high traffic doorways and takes advantage of the fact that most people really have few options but to move predictably around that map. That map in particular, he knows the best angles to shoot from, and sticks to them pretty religiously. When it's crowded, I've seen him finish consistently in the middle or back of the pack on all the other maps, then when that one comes around, suddenly his FPH shoots up and he finishes near the top if not first.

At times I've felt like he walls, but I've never had any concrete proof to post about it to any admins, just vague suspicion. At times he seems to play with headphones quality sound awareness, other times, he seems to have newbie level sound awareness. I tend to think he's never been a waller, it's just that I'm a super-aggressive player which often makes my movement predictable to those like him who are content to play "ambush and run" their whole lives.

Clip 1: Inconclusive. That right there is one of his favorite spam/ambush spots. Typically how wallhacks are spotted (without actually watching a demo using a wallhack) is to see where the person in question is doing things like watching ceilings, upper corners and walls between a direct line of sight to another floor at a higher elevation, etc. Back in the day, I think it was Krenz who got caught using a wallhack on one of the iR servers. If you can find that demo (I have no idea where it might be now), that'll give you the best example of someones behavior when walling. And if you watch the slowmo part, he's consistently focused on the doorway, not the walls covering the walkway or the railgun area.

Clip 2: Inconclusive. You cut too much of the clip out. I'd be willing to be that he came from his favorite patroling area on the top level across from the moving platform and saw the player heading that way from the middle lower area and pursued him, knowing that the high ground would afford him plenty of cover and opportunity to take pot shots. Early on, as he is jumping from the lava room ledge to the SSG, he isn't looking down at the floor as if to visually follow the player as they run that direction. He turns and shoots late, hitting the floor, because obviously he didn't know precisely where they'd be until he was mid-air. Bot? Probably not. Those two shots taken completely on their own, I'd say "inconclusive", but given that I've seen all the other shots in the video too at this point, in that context pushes it towards "no".

Clip 3: Inconclusive. I noticed in clip 2 you probably have a very loud "SHEILDS!" sound for the armor pickup, or at least something that starts with a loud "SHHHH" sound, not really sure what it is. And if you pause this at 0:56, the guy left the yellow armor. So yeah, maybe no sound cues,... then again, that's a one of the spam shots he does a lot. If he was walling, I tend to think he wouldn't have tried the quick poke-out-and-shoot thing there and instead would've put both of those rockets at the floor or wall of that opening they were jumping towards. And the final rocket he spams at the lower door knowing the person 8 times out of 10 will likely travel that direction and he could possibly hit them again.

Clip 4: Inconclusive. A simple 1 and 2 are not known bot or wallhack commands. Doesn't mean someone couldn't have modified one to use those instead. Sometimes wallhacks will have options to cycle through modes (solid walls with entities showing, semi-transparent walls with entities showing, etc).

Clip 5: No.

A bot always aims by snapping to the target. When people don't set them up trying to hide them, what happens is every time they press fire, their crosshair will lock to the center of the body of the nearest visible opponent. When you hold down fire with a chaingun, the player can jump all over the place, but the crosshair stays locked to the opponents center.

If they want to try to hide the fact that they are using an aimbot, what they will do is set the bots field of vision to a low number. This way, if someone is running around about 70 degrees to their left and they press fire, the bot will not instantly turn and lock to that opponent. The opponent would need to be within... let say about 5 degrees of the crosshair when the player hit fire before the bot would lock onto that opponent. Also, the botter would only want to use hitscan weapons, since anything with a projectile that moves at a slower than instantaneous speed would likely consistently and conspicuously miss the target as the opponent moves. This means they would likely favor the railgun, chaingun and machinegun, but would perhaps use something like a hyperblaster only at close range, and would likely exhibit poor effectiveness with a rocket launcher compared to their railgun effectiveness, but would probably only use it so rarely that you couldn't tell.

When a bot has two opponents within it's active field of vision, it will always be programmed to prioritize the target either closest or farthest away. So if the botter is using a bot that prioritizes the closest opponent, and they are using a chaingun, and the opponent is running away, BUT... a second opponent enters the room and moves towards the botter... at the moment when those two opponents become equal distances away from the botter, the bot will usually rapidly bounce between the two targets momentarily.

This did not happen in the clip.

With a low fov bot and a smarter user, they will adopt a single-click railgun method of playing so as to not lock the bot to a target for an extended period. They'll be aiming just to the edge of an opponents body (enough that the shot could barely skim past the hitbox and miss), but quickly jerk to the center while firing, then immediately back to the original spot on the edge of where the opponent was.

Then again... if they set the bots FOV exceedingly low, they could potentially toggle the bot on and off to operate in an auto-fire mode while using the railgun. Then they'd have to toggle it on, sweep their crosshair over the opponent, and wait for the bot to fire the shot. I'm not 100% sure this method is a real thing, but from what I've seen, it seems entirely possible. Which means I've obviously never seen anyone actually do it. But if they did, I'd assume you'd still be able to tell from the piss-poor way they tended to jiggle the crosshair over opponents rather than picking a spot and using the "trip-wire fire method" most people employ.

Long story short: There's really no way to consistently bot without it being obvious to someone watching.

Clip 5 might rule out a bot in that case, but it still looks very strange he chose to shoot at the wall before the second player even appeared in peripheral vision rather than shoot at the player in front of him
