Text Spam Bots on the DM Server

I don't know if there are any admins around, but there are very annoying text spam bots on the DM server right now.

If an admin can rocket launch them off the server, that would be great!

Today there was a connection with a name of "specops" and it was privately messaging folks on the server.

It also felt botish to me.  Might be a good one to keep an eye on as well.

one on just now by the name of "Smark"  -  pm,ing ppl, telling them he/it knows where they live and how they feel about it.. -  then saying keep it private.

Had around a 190-200 ish ping, either a bot or someone very strange

Yes that one was messaging Unholy and myself telling us he knew where we lived.  I think it is the same bot.

Yeah it was messaging me for a while then seemed to move onto someone else after i ignored it.

I banned both of those pm bots. Those are harder for us to spot from outside the server since pms don't show up in server chat.  I expect it will happen again, let us know if it does and one of us will deal with it.  Saying something about the pm bot in server chat might catch our attention as well

Some people get positive attention from their FRIENDS. Other people have no friends and instead settle for the negative attention they get annoying people for no reason.

Yeah, the old tastyspleen live irc channel might be offline (I haven't fired up mirc in a loooooong time, few people were using it anymore), but for those who don't know, they now have the old uvula bot running the same kind of relay of the chat to a section called "tastyspleen live" on Jehars TastyspleenTV discord channel. If you just spam things repeatedly in the chat like "ratbot", "aimbot", "wallhack", and I think "admin" also, it'll highlight that text in red. So simply saying something like "Admin, someone is spamming private messages at me." will show up highlighted in red and be easier for any admins on Discord to see.

But probably the better thing to do would just be to get yerself on Discord and tell them directly. Join the fun.

Words like console, admin, and bot flag a different colour in the program we watch the server from as well.  But yes, fastest way to get a response from us is likely sending one of us a pm on discord.

Ya I played one day too recently and some weirdo named spectator kept private message me weird stuff “I know where you live let’s chat confess your problems yada yada yada” I was too busy playing to read most of it I think they got upset cause I never sent a private message back to them or acknowledged them
