TDM Enabled Auto Demo Record & Auto Screenshot

I wanted to reach out to ask if it is possible to enable auto demo record and auto screenshot enabled for all the tastyspleen TDM servers? (tourney , tourney2 )  Scripts / Triggers unfortunately won't work the best.

I'm not familiar with server-side solutions for demo recording.

Would this force all players to record demos (whether they want to or not?)

When they asked this question in discord I told them that the screenshot was possible at least by stuffing wallfly with 'score' then taking a screenshot with a timestamp using the $ character of I remember correctly. Demos no.

Of course you'd have to fetch the screenshots from wallfly as well though

This functionality is enabled in EU and Turkey quake2 servers. I asked friend of mine what the command is to enable this. This does force all players to record demos and screenshots once the game starts and stops once the game is over.

I believe tourney's are the only servers that doesn't have this enabled.

This request is specifically for two TDM servers and not for any other servers. This is a very common feature that is enabled in EU and in other packetflinger servers as well. I believe with r1q2 you can manually disable this feature one enabled at the server level.

Thanks. I was reminded of this request last night, and realized I'd forgotten to follow up on this thread.

I looked over the OpenTDM source code to see how it works.

Interestingly, it appears if you register for a stats-tracking User ID on opentdm.net, the mod is able to download your personal preferences and allow you to enable autorecord and autoscreenshot on your account.

To make this work, it appears you'll need to set your User ID from opentdm.net in your local config:

It also looks like maybe the newer version of OpenTDM allows you to specify your own "uf" (user flags) locally. (Meaning you could set up autorecord and autoscreenshot in your local client without even needing to registor for a User ID.)

That would seem ideal. I don't think our older build of OpenTDM supports that "uf" method, but it seems the ideal approach to me.

I'll research it further, and if possible, update to a newer version which supports that. Then anyone wanting to autorecord and autoscreenshot can just set in their local q2 config.

In the meantime, the version of OpenTDM we are running DOES appear to support the solution based on the opentdm.net User ID. If so, you should be able to make that work already on our servers.
