All "scotch" in my opinion is swill. They blend it because it's putrid crap on it's own. I'll drink it on the rocks if it's handed to me, but I'm certainly not gonna voluntarily drink that shit anymore. I used to like Glenlivet, Johnny Walker black, and Dewars in my early 20's... but then I tasted DECENT whiskey and figured out it was a mere one rung above some disgusting puke like... Southern Comfort.

And yeah, Johnny Walker blue is NOT worth the price. If you ever get curious, DO NOT buy a fucking bottle of it, even with a gift card someone gave you. It's like 200-something a fifth. I think the stuff USED to be aged 25 years old, but I'm looking at some pics of bottles on google and I don't see shit on the labels about age anymore. The red is 8 or 10 yrs, black 12yrs, green label 15 years, "platinum" label is 18, and the blue doesn't say shit, just says "only 1 in 10,000 casks makes the grade". Wank wank wank. Anyway, as I was gonna say, if you get curious about ridiculously priced shit like Johnny Walker blue, don't buy a bottle, just get a straight up shot of it at a bar for 20 or 25 bucks. Also, order a shot of straight up Johnny Walker black. Taste them both blindfolded. If you can tell any difference... then go be retarded and spend 200 bucks on a bottle of that bullshit. Then go buy a bottle of Old Pultney (some REAL scotch) and hate yourself for being such a fuckin tool.

Single malt is the only REAL scotch whiskey. And it's not cheap because those fuckers are uppity about their "centuries old" recipes. There's not really a good reason for it to be priced that high. Imported, sure. Aged, sure. But in my opinion, it's priced over what it should be.

The biggest difference between Irish and Scottish whiskey and Kentucky/Tennessee whiskey is the base for the mash. The Irish and Scottish use malted barley and here in America we use corn. In my opinion, corn makes a better whiskey. I'll confess I've never tried to make any whiskey with barley mash, but I've compared mine made with Indian Sweet Corn mash side by side with some high priced Scottish whiskey, and I liked mine better.

Johnnie Walker Red..this brings back good memories..and thats why I like it. easy to find it everywhere(I dont know in USA,in Europe is)
It is strong,maybe not expensive but its good quality.

but these are the whiskeys everybody knows...
how about whiskeys that are rare?..difficult to find..expensive..with very strange taste..strange colors..some of them you find them only in Scotland..maybe I ll talk about this later
