Would it ever be possible to get number of flag Captures C: on the scoreboard next to players names like the LMCTF mod has?

I don't know why it can't be added. It's just a matter of adding the capture count to the player state and pulling it up. I think it might be possible to add it to the player HUD while we're at it.

I added capture tracking to the player HUD tonight. Scoreboard modification to follow. The TMG scoreboards are one-line entries for players, not multiline like LMCTF so adding another element needs some work but the statistic is tracked in the player data, now it's just a matter of laying out the scoreboard format.

Added Capture counts to the scoreboard per your request. It's not like LMCTF but it's more like an enhanced version of the existing TMG CTF scoreboard.
Added the console variable "newscore" to allow you to select the new version or the old one if you don't like it or if it has bugs. Default is 1, the new version, set it to 0 with rcon or in your configuration as you see fit. You can toggle it "live" on the server with rcon to compare layouts.
Pull the new code to your local repo and recompile.

Interesting. I'll look into it. I didn't think I changed anything to make it do that. If you set newscore 0 does it still pop up?

OK, I've been doing some testing here.
Didn't it always pop up on fragged player's screen on death? I know that's the default on most mods and I have not (intentionally) changed that in TMG.
I've never seen a scoreboard pop up on respawn.
Are these both an issue or only the pop on respawn?

Add server option to display scoreboard on death. Default to off.
Cvar was added ctf_deathscores, default value 0.
Inhibits display of scoreboard in fragged player console on death.

Map rotation is (mostly) fixed.
Server will select each map in maplist file in sequence without skipping unnecessarily.
Maplist file now works correctly with min/max player load sensitivity and the server will select the next map based on player count if the min/max values are used in the maplist in the format:
q2dm1 "Edge" 2 10
If no min/max values are given, the server assumes 0 to maxclients.
Server now recognizes when a listed map file can't be found and it handles it by reporting it in messages and server log and reverting to the previous map. Once the map is re-played it moves to the next valid map in the list. This can be improved by skipping to the next map right away but I felt this incremental change needed posting for now. The map selection code is kind of a mess with timers, voting, randomization and selection all involved and I didn't have a lot of time on hand to scrap and re-write it.

awesome! i cant thank you enough for taking the time to code on this mod
ill update the Chicago server and test it out.
Wallfly is now on the Dallas Railwarz server too! we are planning on having some big games there tonight and every Sunday evening if anyone wants to join
Mythical Beings TMG Railwarz CTF - Dallas iCTF 74.86.171.202:27915
goto txrwz
the Dallas server is a lot smoother than the Chicago server.. i guess its packetloss maybe? or some issue with the 64bit VPS that its running on? havent been able to narrow it down. would there be increased performance if switched to a 32bit VPS? or maybe its just a network issues thats nfoservers is having? on Chicago server everyones ping will drop to 0 or something very low for a few seconds and the whole server freezes.. wish i could fix it
any idea what type of connection, ISP and specs the Dallas server is running on?

It's a fairly old bare metal server (not virtual) running in SoftLayer's Dal01 datacenter.
CPU: 2x Intel Xeon L5335 @ 2.00GHz (8 cores total)
RAM: 12GB
Its HDD is not fast, so sometimes the game servers hitch when trying to write to their logfiles. If your server ever has that issue, and you don't care about server logs, then disabling logging tends to solve the problem.

LOX renames the server log each day/week/month depending on configuration. I have it doing a rename daily. This keeps the log files smaller and it archives each log for inspection later. I don't know if this helps performance or not but the "old school" Quake2 logs just get enormous if you don't attend to them manually and I didn't want to do a lot of server maintenance. I have not added this functionality to TMG yet. It might be time to add it soon and attend to some of the latent bugs later just to see if it makes a difference in the performance of the game on your virtual server. In the mean time I advise deleting or renaming your server log every week, don't let it get huge, it's useless as a log once it gets big anyway. Either that, or don't log, the chat logs are not a factor and they renew daily. For the time being, on txrwz I have disabled logging.
