Alabama at Georgia, October 3rd. I'll definitely be at that one. Kinda sucks though. All 4 years Aaron Murray was QB at Georgia, they didn't get Alabama on their schedule once.

I still remember the SEC Championship game of Georgia vs Alabama a few years back. Probably the single greatest SEC football game I've ever seen and will ever hope to see.

Georgia's QB situation this season looks pretty bleak. The days of Georgia having elite receivers is probably over too. They should have a decent run game if their top 2 RB's stay healthy, but I don't expect much in the way of passing.

I'm actually a little more hopeful for Georgia Tech's chances at a big bowl berth this year. They surprised a lot of people last year, and they may surprise even more this year.

This looks a nightmare

we have a similar thing here in the UK. Just finished the football (soccer, as our American friends call it) season - it'll soon come around again

I played football for years, was in two teams at school and different 5-a-sides at work and with friends as well as a bit of Sunday footie

. Always, ALWAYS, hated watching it on TV

Boring, or what?

Go out and play the game, is what I say - OK not now that I'm 50. I've changed to cycling and cycle clubs, as my knees can't take all the jolts anymore

Anyway, come on you soccer TV watchers - get off that couch, put down the crisps (potato chips I think they're called) get a ball and go outside - either that or play QII

Unc is a shaky inconsistent team. This first game against sc will decide the difference between a 10-2 season and a 7-5. I hope they come to play... It's in Charlotte.

South Carolina is not picked to be that good this year. The prediction I saw calls for them to go 3-5 in the SEC and 7-5 Overall.

Since they predict that all of SC's losses are in the SEC, that means they think SC will beat UNC

I know it is pre-season but I still found this to be interesting. This was a matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Bucs.
Cleveland starting QB is Josh McCown (who was TB starting QB last year) against Jameis Winston (TB new starting QB and their #1 pick)
Josh McCown is not a great QB, but compared to Jameis Winston (in this game) - McCown is Hall of Fame material.

I cringed when TB picked Winston with the 1st pick. Winston may have the skills to be good, but does he have the smarts to do it.
I still think before his first two years are up, he will have off the field trouble also.

Not saying I'm offended by such language. Not at all. I'd be dropping the N-bomb as well as the homophobic F-bomb if it weren't for certain automatic features of this board that prevent me from exercising my First Amendment rights. HAIL, QUADZ THE OPPRESSOR!

Nevertheless, Jameis Winston is indeed a "queer... whatever". Dude was caught redhanded on video tape shoplifting a seafood platter from a fucking grocery store. Then he was accused of rape. And the folks at Florida State University still didn't voluntarily suspend him from the team. Meanwhile at the University of Georgia, a few miles from me, they voluntarily suspend Heisman Trophy frontrunner Todd Gurley (WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE NCAA INVESTIGATION) for accepting a couple hundred bucks for signing his name on some merchandise. But hey, when coach Jimbo Fisher wants his National Title, he ain't about to do the RIGHT and/or RESPECTABLE thing and risk it. But here in Dawg-Nation... we got ethics. Our coach don't play dat shit.

Still not sure what to expect with nc v. sc, or what the addition of Chizik will do for a bad defense. It's really tough to make a case that it won't improve... but, who knows. I didn't realize that NC SC is the FBS opener. Or they're calling it that at least and not counting FIU v. UCF that's starting at the same time. UNC is a slight underdog by the vegas odds like it always is in a situation like this, but it might be accurate for the first time. Usually they place far too much stock into NC yet they always blow it. I can recall so many times I could've made easy money off NC losing but that's just hindsight from the optimistic unc fan. I might bet on NC winning in a low-scoring game.

Q****r has been retaken by the gay community here in the UK. There was even a primetime TV program called 'Queer as folk', set in Manchester - was aired in the late 1990s. Gay presenters on primetime TV now - Paul O'Brady et al. And even openly gay politicians. The whole gay thing is not really that much of an issue here anymore - gay clubs have closed because there's no need for them anymore. Still some homophobia, of course.

Was not aware it's still used as a homophobic term in the USA - my apologies. Could be used here in that way, but no longer carries any power behind it. Gay does not even mean gay anymore - means rubbish, for some reason. Example - your PC is well gay, means it's not very good and is not a reference to it's sexuality.

There was a strip club near here called Deja Vu. The religionistas picketed it many times to make it go away. Lots of controversy for many years until this year where the economy and internet porn did the job that protests and complaints to city hall couldn't.

Now Deja Vu is no more, closed due to slow business. It's been replaced by a Gay-Straight-Friendly bar that serves alcohol and who knows what else, 7 days a week.

Always interesting to see consequences of actions as history unfolds.

Yeah, a lot of times in the US "gay" means "stupid, rubbish, idiotic, etc", ...but when I say John Elway is gay, I mean he probably puts lots and lots of penises in his mouth on a daily basis.
