Kinda old news actually. I had heard a couple years ago that his health was turning to shit and he finally stopped smoking. So the pack a week thing may or may not be true. As for the drinking thing, it's not like he's getting shitfaced drunk anymore. When he's at home in LA, you can literally meet him in person almost any day of the week. He's a regular down at the old Rainbow bar on the strip. Usually he's camped in front of the video poker machine at the end of the bar. These days he's paying WAY more attention to the poker machine than his drink sitting there. He's pretty cool and will always take a minute or two to take pictures with fans or sign autographs for people who come through as long as you're not a spaz or a dick about it.

One of the last true rock and roll legends. Fucking LOVE Motorhead. Lemmy doesn't take nearly a decade off between albums like Slayer and other bands. He's always putting out new stuff, and he's not selling out to trendy bullshit, and you always know what you're gonna get with any new Motorhead album.

He's actually got a new album coming out at the end of this month. Probably the reason for the (old) news.

Another English artist doing over in the US - still well liked in the UK.  He'd drink a bottle of JD a day, and until 2013 had been reported to do so for about 30 years!     Real Rock n' roll
