2D, If you care about the show, try reading a book for once in your life.

Then you can do what I do and complain about the things they glossed over during each episode, instead of going around wondering what will happen next week.

Eh, I dunno that I'd take that advice. Call me an uncultured hick, but why spend hours and hours and days and weeks and months reading R.R. Martin's books when you can probably get just as much entertainment from watching the show, and save yourself ALL that time. I haven't read a single syllable of anything R.R. Martin ever wrote, but I don't imagine it's inspiring enough that I'd wanna continue doing it for longer than one book. My opinion just from watching the show is that there's very little which is unique or interesting about R.R. Martin's storytelling.

The show isn't terrible. I'll give it one thing, sometimes it kinda wows with special effects and things. This past weeks episode especially. The battle scene with horses crashing into people and flopping all over the place was pretty fucking nuts and WAY cool, loved it. Every time I've seen movies or shows set in the long gone past (Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, or more recently, the Vikings TV series), they never find a way to make horseback warfare look as brutal as it should. They can't do anything that'll possibly injure or endanger the horses during filming because of anal retentive animal rights folks. So occasionally a stuntman will jerk the reins of a horse to one side to make it look like someone slashed the horses neck with a sword, but that's about the extent of it.

yep, as the man of all men stated, i just watch the show, i dont have the time to read all the books, and its fun to stay in wonder regarding the future outcomes.

Knowing the outcome and then watching the show takes all the fun out of it. I HONESTLY DONT KNOW who is going to win the iron throne, or if an iron throne will exist when its all said and done. For all i know, the lord of light and the many faced god and the sea god might all show up in human form and initiate mortal kombat ROFL?

Anyway, season finale next week will be good :) :bananaw00t:

If you want to live in ignorance, that's up to you.

Even for people who have read the all of the books currently available, there are still 2 to go that nobody has a clue about, and the quality of the character and world building in the books is noticeably superior to the condensed form you get with the show.

There's considerably more than tits and swordfights in the written form.

There's considerably more than tits and swordfights in the written form.

So he describes the smells of old-world vaginas in the books? I kinda wouldn't doubt that he would include some explicit litero-pornographic stuff.

I remember back when I was in middle school, I went to the public library with either one of my parents or my sister, and I ended up checking out an Aliens book that I think I found on one of the young adult paperback turnstyle racks. I figured since I kinda liked the Aliens movies, I might like one of the books. The book I got wasn't based on any of the movies though. I forget who wrote it, but it wasn't anyone involved in any of the original Aliens movies. I started reading it, and to my absolute fucking astonishment, it had parts in it that almost read like some shit you'd find in one of those Penthouse Letters magazines, HAHAHA! Apparently the people at the public library system hadn't bothered reading or learning anything about these Aliens books by this particular author, because they were downright fucking filthy and pornographic. Every other chapter had at least 2 or 3 pages graphically describing all sorts of sexual shit.

So the moral of the story... if you got kids, might wanna take a little browse through the shit they're checking out from the public library. You'd think they wouldn't allow shit like that to be found in the sections where teens might browse for books, but... sometimes shit falls through the cracks I guess.

Then again, with every kid having a phone these days, and every phone having internet on it, I guess they could always find worse shit than mere words.

Just watched the season finale.......

Spoilers ahead......

==================================================

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT THE FUCK

WAS THAT!!!!!!!!

CERSEI BLEW UP THE WHOLE GODDAM CITY ROFL!?
This bitch went nuclear on those fucking faith zombies.

CERSEI IS THE FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!
ALL HAIL THIS FUCKING QUEEEN

This was the very best episode of the season, ranking very high for the series also. I was wondering why the hell they were drawing the trial out and why they were taking their sweet time following this idiot into the sewer system. I was completely surprised. Never in a billion years did i think cersei would use Raygar targaryans lunacy to her advantage. LLOL

When the candle went out, the look on the high sceptars face was epic. I have been calling for that motherfucker to die the entire season, and my gawd, having him die in such a glorious fashion made my goddam night. ROFL

A++++++++++++++

King tomin is a goddam noob. NOOOOOOB from the N to the B, the very definition. The poor noobs mind got scrambled into a cluster fuck and he goes and jumps out the goddam window LMFAO

He was not worthy of the  throne, no where near it. The show writers wrote it perfect, he just had to die, there was no coming back from his douchery and his committment to the faith and all of that nonsense. Good hearted, spirited kid, but not an inch of maturity. Sad but necessary.

JON FUCKING SNOW

WINTER IS HERE!!! I got goosebumps after everyone shouted screaming KING OF THE NORTH KING OF THE NORTH. That motherfucker little finger is already plotting though, I was hoping for his demise, but i guess we need something to look forward to next season.

Bran's vision of the castle room didnt realy click with me, especially not having read the books, but obviously the scene cut to jon snows face, so i take it the baby is jon snow, and the uncle is ned stark. Who is the father who sexed ned's sister? Im missing the big key, one of u need to fill me in on this. It may have just flew over my head.

Arya stark fucking raped that son of a bitch Fray. Clever surprise, but how the hell did she get a face to hide in? I thought she left that god and that part of her life. Im missing something here too i guess.

Last but not least, ms denarys mother of dragons makes the midget her "hand", allies herself with the iron born, gets lord balish's help to solidify an alliance between house tyrell and the dorn people. This girl is looking unstoppable. Cersei is fucked come next season. Denarys doesnt have an army, she has a goddam fucking continent sailing to westeros. LOL?

From the looks of it, westeros is going to fall pretty quickly. Not sure how the lanaster queen is going to defend it.

Anyway, i loved this episode, i love this show, in fact, im watching the episode again.

GAME OF THRONES !!!!!!!!!! :bump:

The next two episodes will finally shed light on the battlefield where Ned Stark killed Ser Arthur Dayne "The sword of the Morning", member of the kings guard. It's obvious that the fan theory is coming to life after showing bran's vision of Ned's sister, Lyanna Stark. After Ned slayed one of the greatest swordsmen in the realm(y'all might've not saw it, but in the trailer it showed a young Ned fighting from the past) he found Lyanna covered in blood. It was from birthing Jon snow, his father being rhaegar targareyon.  Jon snow is half wolf half dragon and will take the throne in season 8.

haunted,

if what dervish says is true, then there are 2 books unwritten yet..... so how the hell do you know jon snow is going to take the iron throne.

the father is still unconfirmed, and even if it is true that he is half targaryan, it doesnt mean he can withstand fire or command her dragons or whatnot.

and again, someone explain to me how arya did what she did  :rocketleft:

Calm down, you little girl. It wasn't THAT fantastic. The whole episode, unlike all other episodes, felt entirely rushed. Usually they take their sweet assed time unfolding the plot a piece at a time. This one seemed like they got to ep9 on their storyboard, then noticed they fucked up taking too long to progress and still had a lot of objectives to hit with the story before beginning season 7, so they just hurriedly shoehorned everything in. For instance, there was NOTHING leading into Arya arriving at the post-victory feast and assassinating the crusty Fray dude, it was just quickly shat out into the storyline. The whole wildfire bombing thing with Cercei stoicly getting dressed and looking out from the balcony, as well all related parts of that plot point, felt entirely borrowed and ripped off from the Godfather movies where Michael Corleone whacks the heads of the 5 families. They could've pulled it all off so much more gracefully had they another 1 or 2 episodes to do it in.

The father is confirmed, it's rhaegar targareyon. He was one of the only respected and admired people from the targareyon family in 2 generations. He was quite the fighter too. Robert Baratheon, the king from season 1, loved Ned stark's sister Lyanna. Rhaegar, who was daenarys' older brother by 20 years or so, was married to the Princess of dorne, Oberyn's sister whom he tried to avenge in season 5 but got his skull crushed by the mountain. Despite being married with 2 kids, rhaegar loved Lyanna and kidnapped her taking her away which started "Robert's Rebellion". Robert killed rhaegar in battle which marked the beginning of the end of the war. The reason why rhaegar ran off was kind of fishy considering the truly loyal Ned stark brought a bastard home to his wife. He obviously wasn't that type of guy, and rhaegar running off with a pregnant Lyanna stark, who likely loved him mutually, made a lot more sense. He claimed Jon snow was his bastard to protect him being that Robert wanted all targareyons dead.

If you're that obsessed with it, then rewatch it. I don't think you retained the crucial parts too well. But, I wouldn't expect you too  :dohdohdoh:

Focalor u r insane. Cersei's trump card explosion was amazing. I have no idea why that scene instantly reminded you of the godfather movies, you must have recently watched the trilogy or some shit. To me it was fresh, she gathered an entire populace into a fixed area and nuked them all. genius.

she got her revenge on the tyrells, the high sceptar and all her naysayers. she pulled off the ultimate ownage of all time LOL, going from raggedy disgraced royalty to the iron throne in 1 day.

Haunted: if what you say is true, theres no way to prove it. i think jon  wouldve known by this stage in his life if he was immune to fire. How else is he ganna prove hes a targaryan.

Bran needs to go further back in time to verify it. why he is fixated on this tower moment makes no sense, unless he was able to hear it, and it was just kept from the viewer.

And by the way, stop dodging my Arya question. how did arya use a face when she abandoned the many face god. she never used a face before, so what makes her able to use one now. did she steal some faces before she left the sanctuary or is she killing random people, slicing their faces and doing some voodoo. rofl

Targaryens are not inherently immune to fire. Daenerys was a unique case:

Arya's job while she was staying at the house of black and white was to strip corpses that were sent down to lower levels where they apparently took their faces as well. The timeline is a bit murky since the books end before the events of her leaving bravos, but it would seem she graduated to the face skinner job somewhere in there as they taught her the many tricks of their trade.

It's not that much of a stretch that they taught her the magic face skinning stuff in addition to the stealthy people killing stuff. Its all part of their job and she was being groomed to be a full assassin.

I felt that the last two episodes had a great deal of timeline squeezing and skipping to get everyone where they needed to be at "the same time" or at least in the same episode in time for a season finale that really means nothing in terms of the overall story. The Greyjoys crossed a huge sea to get to Mereen in no time and readied a whole fleet to sail again, Arya is back in westeros and all the way across the riverlands.. Sam on the other hand got from horn hill to old town which are near each other, in the same amount of time.

That being said, I think the writers would be total fucking morons if Arya doesn't start having warg dreams of Nymeria in the next episode, setting up for a reunion between the only female direwolf around and her master (sister to the guy with the only male direwolf left around..) She's currently back in physical proximity to her wolf, and last time she was that close she dreamed she was Nymeria just like Bran could be his wolf and Jon could see through Ghost.

If you didn't see the body, they aren't dead and that goes for animals as well as people.

I felt that the last two episodes had a great deal of timeline squeezing and skipping to get everyone where they needed to be at "the same time" or at least in the same episode in time for a season finale that really means nothing in terms of the overall story

See, I'm not the only one noticing this, and I didn't even read the books so I have no idea where things are supposed to be. They needed probably 12 episodes rather than 10 to flesh it all out more logically and coherently. It's TV, so they can always hogtie and drag the story in whatever direction they want, but it kinda pisses all over how they refrained from doing that as much in all the other episodes and makes S06E10 stick out like an erection in gym class.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
