Welp, I took a look around and I discovered that no one had created an official thread for Game of Thrones.

Seeing as it is one of the most popular television series ever, I have created a home for all to discuss any and all things game of thrones!

Synopsis:
Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

Season 5 episode 8 HARDHOME was absolutely insane.
Best episode of the season maybe even the series... fucking awesome!!!

i caught up to season 5 EP.3 so far. did a bit of a marathon spread out through the weeks. Good show. Now i know where haunteds avatar came from at one point Lol ramsey

Anyway... staying ON TOPIC now...

FINALLY after... what, 3 seasons or so? There's finally something going on with this looming white walker threat. I didn't read the books, wouldn't waste my time with that shit, but if they're anything like the storyline in the show, it's pretty unbelievable and inauthentic that it's taken this long for a mass of white walkers to finally attack someone. I seem to remember fatass Sam get bum-rushed by a white walker on a one-man warpath while he was not too far outside the wall. And then... white walkers FINALLY attack a village which one can only assume is even farther out from the wall than where Sam killed one with dragon glass back in season 2 or whatever. Obviously that situation was integral to building the plot concerning the white walkers, but it still makes things a little incoherent. A poorly thought out aspect of the story.

Then again, nothing about Game of Thrones is exactly "original" or unique. It's pretty obvious to me that George RR Martin is a JRR Tolkien wannabe. I suspect that even the RR initials in his name is entirely phony and only for the purpose of making his name sound kinda like Tolkien's. Game of Thrones is basically one big mashup of Lord of the Rings, Sword in the Stone, and every zombie movie ever made. And the usage of frequent gratuitous nudity is pretty stupid too. Obviously it's a ploy to hook the blue-balled 17 to 25 year old male viewers. 99.9% of it is completely unnecessary and adds nothing to the story. It could be edited out completely and the show wouldn't change. Except for the fact that horny girlfriend-less 17 to 25 year olds tune in every week hoping to see some titties and bush.

But still, Peter Dinklage. The little dudes one helluva an actor and plays probably the best part in the entire story. And that theme song... thanks for that. I'll have that shit glued into my brain all fffffffffffffffffffffffucking week now.

Season 1 and book 1 were very similar, book 2 and season 2 not as much, and so on and so on. The wildlings have been dealing with the white walkers the whole time it just hasn't been something hbo focused on. I can't remember a scene where wildlings were the main focus of anything. It's always Jon Snow and his dealings, fights, or whatever with them.

The last episode took a silly turn. Stannis doesn't burn his daughter in the books.

Weird they chose to paint him as a villain. Jorah Mormont doesn't get gray scale, either... and Barristan Selmy doesn't die(the previous two right hand men of daenerys). Tyrion doesn't wind up with daenerys either, he winds up with someone else who is a VERY important character but hbo has neglected to mention him

That zombie avalanche episode 2 weeks ago was mainly a ploy to get the walking dead fans on board the GoT bandwagon ... it seems like it worked too from what i've seen on social media. I don't think game of thrones is a rip off of lord of the rings and others really.. I just think they dramatize the books all similarly when recreating them into movies and series.

I've seen it reported in a few places now, that the showrunners did a recent interview wherein they claim to have received that plot point from George Martin -- the implication being that it hasn't happened yet in the books.

To anyone who watches Game of Thrones via torrents on piratebay... which is probably half the audience, hehe,... be aware that you shouldn't download the "ASAP ettv" 400mb version of this weeks S05E09 episode. Somehow it got completely clusterfuckered when it was encoded and the video/audio freaks out about 35mins into it making it unwatchable. Apparently the "KILLERS ettv" version doesn't have the same problems.

Yeah Quadz that was my understanding too. But, it's not the case. Half the events I listed happened but to an entirely different character. Perhaps they were going to die anyway, but what about the guy it should've been? Stannis might burn his child in the next book, yeah. But the rest are significantly different than the plot in the books.

'best' part is when Martin (Alzheimer dementia) don't know what to "do" with main character. he 'kill' him on most stupid way, like he was moron and not main character...
