What name do YOU play as?       

I play with about sixty personas all with names and models specific to what i feel like --or how serious -- or who i am playing.

iI would like to see yours.      With maybe an etymology and back story .  This includes your primary alias is [BTF] Gator about more than just Florida etc. etc.

{ex.    i pinged server to see Cochise, Geronimo and tenderfoot were in so i quickly joined as Shiddin Bull   - with the black cow model of course}

may sound stupid to some esp. if you only ever play as one alias but i think it adds to the fun and maybe some will admit who else they are cuz it can be fruzterating to not know who you are up against.

 Of course, most nom de plume are personal or guarded but we all play for fun and i see lots of originality out there.

Out of respect for all of us (and im sure the ip gives away all to console)  if you mention others pseudonyms please only say the ones that are common knowledge (i.e. Phyzik <===> SlickSoul )

these days I either play as sean or Remedy....

sean: is my real name, when I came back to q2 in 2004 I didnt wanna use my old nick "Grimm" when I logged onto irc to see who was still around, so I just typed in my name

Remedy: I seen a video for seether's "remedy" - seemed like a cool nick to use until I heard someone at the first PGL used it as their nick, now I'm looking for a new one that hasn't been used by some competitive q2 player.

Grimm: I used to use this nick from like 98 to 2001, it's short for Grimmace, a nickname my best friend back in those days (MONSTERZERO) gave me because of the look I always had on my face. An extra "m" was added at some point to give it some originality.

Always fun to change your name....  the game is all about having fun; fun names only assist that.

Some names(of other players) I've always liked:
snail rail, Tiberius Jerk, Rumpleforeskin... ahh, it's amazing how you can't recall very many. Lots of good names out there though.

Ok naymlis, ninJa, 25fps, adverse, etc., etc. etc.

I started playing Q2 on heat.net as Ghost9909.  Its lame as hell but the numbers are the last 4 digits of my social.  They used to always post our grades with those digits in high school, and of course "Ghost" was already a registered name on heat.net.

Eventually I dropped the extra digits to Ghost9, which seemed a little less lame, and is still recognizable.  Some other players had similar names (Cl0ud7 for instance), so it seemed alright.

I would have liked to change to something more original than Ghost, but I want my old heat.net friends (i.e. kong, yin, rmick15, crazychiman, gomez aka GYN, and many others) to recognize me when they occasionally play.

I also used to look like a ghost when I would play Q2 all night and into the morning during college.  I'd go to class in a total haze with dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep.  Seems Q2 can be somewhat addictive...

BTW, I had dl skins turned off so I see everyone's fancy custom skins as grunt.

i normally only alias when im drunk.  Which is lame, cuz its just a game, what does it matter if you lose a freaking game?  Anyways, some i have used commonly in the deep past: fragmeat, Vishnu.  Recent past: 4130.

I loved playing as M.Bison in Street Fighter II and Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha and Vega was his original name in Japan.

When I first started, I was using PimpBot5000, and after about 3 months I switched to BadBrent, and pretty much kept ever since.  Normally I like BB for short though.  Occasionally I also alias with names like BeaverTits, WhaleVagina, random pharmaceutical drugs names (don't ask), and Squirtney.
