Tell ya what, Detroit Lions looked pretty solid tonight. Their offense came out white hot in the first two drives of the first quarter, then kinda sputtered out in the 2nd quarter, but managed to do enough in the second half to stay ahead. Kinda sucks for them because of who else they're competing against in their division, but they're putting up a good fight now, especially with some major coaching changes that should get some good results. Still can't believe how many long bombs Matt Stafford consistently throws. Looks just like it did when he was in college (and I wish UGA had a QB like him still). Usually you can't get away with that many 30+yd throws in the NFL, but when you've got a WR like Calvin Johnson, shit, why throw it to anyone else? This dude is crazy good.

And I think Arizona should seriously consider INTENTIONALLY losing almost every game this year so they can draft a decent QB or trade for one. Don't understand why people keep giving Carson Palmer a job as #1 QB. He's like a slightly less horrible Donovan McNabb. Yeah, remember him? Barely? Of course, because he was totally forgettable, lol.

Man, LOVING IT that football seasons here again. Finally a reason to use my TV again for something useful. Between college Saturdays, NFL Thus/Sun/Mon, and all the Madden 15 on the playstation and Madden 13 on the Wii (yeah, I still rock the Wii), its nothing but football 24/7 around here. Yewwwwww... I rock the wii too. Chargers blew it on that last drive with 1:40 left. Poor play calls when they needed some good ones in the clutch, although arizona brought it back from -11. Detroit seems above average from what I've seen. i didn't get to watch the majority of the game though so I can't really say more than that.

As for Ray Rice, yeah he's a piece of shit.

Yeah, agreed. Although it wasn't entirely the play calls that did them in. On that last possession, they had like 4th and 2 or 3, and couldn't manage to get the ball snapped in time. Luckily I guess someone on the sideline was trying to call timeout when the play clock hit zeros, so they lost a TO but kept their field position. Think it was either the pass on 3rd down or the second 4th down attempt that was just poorly aimed too far out in front of the receivers route. So I kinda fault Philip Rivers on that one. Sure, he had linemen crawling up his asshole, but none of them were directly in his line of sight to the receiver he was targeting. He just should've thrown it better.

Was watching some shit on NFL Network a few minutes ago about the old 72 or 73 Superbowl when Pittsburgh edged out Madden's Oakland Raiders in the final seconds of the 4th in what became known as the Immaculate Reception. That shit still makes me laugh. I guess according to the rule book back then, if a pass hits one receiver, another member of that team can't catch the bobble or deflection and it would've been considered an incomplete pass. But it happened so fast that most of the officials couldn't make a call on the play. So after about 20 minutes of scratching their head, they said fuck it and gave Pittsburgh the points and they won the game. Anybody who's never seen that actual play, do yourself a favor and youtube it or something. One of the top 5 greatest moments in NFL history. And man, football was brutal back in those days. You think some of the helmet to helmet hits in recent years are pretty vicious... not even close. Back in the 70's, bodies would go flying 8 feet up in the air when a linebacker would smash a receiver. Would be cool if the NFL would have a channel kinda like the ESPN Classics channel and show nothing but old NFL games from the archives.

Upsets like #24 South Carolina edging out #6 Georgia? I wouldn't really call it an upset though. Cocks always beat Georgia when they play at home in Colombia SC. At least that's the way it's always gone in the last probably 15 years as long as Spurrier's been their coach. So I saw it coming. Still, I was holding out hope that the Gamecocks passing game would be as ineffective as it's been for them in the first two weeks of the season, but no such luck.

I swear to God, if I catch UGA qb Hutson Mason somewhere in Athens before this seasons completely over, I'm gonna shoot that little punk in the leg so he can't play anymore and they'll be forced to stick someone else in there. He's fucking AWFUL! I swear to Christ, they'd literally be better off sticking a runningback in there to run nothing but option plays, because even a HB at QB during trick plays with piss-poor pass accuracy would put up identical stats to what this little suck-ass loser is doing. Fuck my stars, man, even the worst backup high school qb out there knows better than to throw it into the dirt while inside the pocket. It REALLY sucks for Todd Gurley. He's probably the #1 runningback in the country, and he's gotta put up with having the WORST qb in the entire NCAA who fumbles 3 snaps every game.

And Georgia Southern was thiiiiiiiiis close to beating Georgia Tech today. Yellow Jackets SOMEHOW managed to pull a win outta their ass at the end though. Pretty retarded to realize that GaTech is 3-0 while UGA is lucky to be 1-1. How important is a qb? Important enough that I'd happily trade UGA's for whatever numbnuts newbie is QBing for Vandy or Wake Forest at this point.
