I gotta wonder how many Seattle fans left midway through the 4th quarter thinking it was basically over, only to hear from the parking lot all the people still inside losing their ever-loving shit.
Holy Allah God balls. Every team always tries to make that kind of 4th quarter comeback, but only one in a couple thousand ever actually do it, and you might as well say NONE of them ever do it. Simply flabbergasting. Always wanted to use that word, and now I have a reason.
Eh, just too bad Indianapolis couldn't have made their game against New England about as interesting. I was rooting for New England last week, but for Indy this week. Would've been cool to see a great guy like Andrew Luck make it to the SuperBowl, but he wasn't accurate for shit, and whoever was calling the setup on defense was calling all the wrong plays. They kept stubbornly rushing 5 or more every play, obviously paranoid about trying to stop Patriots RB Blount, and Brady was burning the shit out of them with short passes against the horrible underneath coverage getting called.
Maybe if Brady wins one more SuperBowl, he'll finally give some consideration to retirement.

Seattle game was ridiculous.
Yeah I know this the football thread, but the schools y'all root for actually have basketball teams this year (Georgia, lsu, Florida)..although Florida typically does have a good team. Those 3 and unc are projected to have spots in the NCAA tournament in march.

Huh? Georgia has a basketball team?
Yeah, most people who are "Georgia" fans don't really give a shit about Georgia basketball. Georgia Tech is probably the school that has more basketball fans in this state. I think Georgia Tech might've won a national championship or two at it (I
know
they made it to the final 4 at least once back in the 90's), while I don't think Georgia EVER has.

Florida won a couple of titles 06 & 07 I think. Florida made the elite 8 the last 4 years, actually made the final 4 last year.
Billy Donovan is a really good coach.
Florida is 10-7 this year. Florida will improve as the year goes, but they are not a elite team this year, it is more of a rebuilding year.
Back to Football
I know this would not of made a difference in the beatdown that NE put on Indy yesterday, but I did find it interesting that NE is in the news again about possible cheating. The article also mentions Lane Kiffin cheating while at USC
I have never cared for Belichick or Kiffin, they both are arrogant sob's and both will do whatever it takes to win (including cheating).

Foc, georgia is 11-5 just coming off wins over vandy and florida. Georgia lost to lsu and Arkansas, who only have 1 loss less than them or so. Arkansas is ranked, lsu is on the cusp then Georgia is probably 35-40th right now. Crucial for Georgia to beat ole miss in their next game, miss would be the next team to mention in the sec. Anyone of these teams could be facing Kentucky in the sec championship.

Well they could be 50 and 0, and I still wouldn't care. Just not a basketball fan at all. I'll concede that it takes a little bit of skill, team work, and quick thinking to be really good at it, but football is just WAY more interesting because of how much more difficult it is. It's 22 guys at once all trying to do their jobs flawlessly, exploit the opportunity when someone DOESN'T do their job, and way more strategy is involved, and it's a lot more physically demanding. It's the greatest organized sport in the world in my opinion. Even better than soccer. Only sport in other countries that even comes close to it is the rugby that they play in UK and Europe, and American football is largely based on it. BTW, if anyone's never seen real rugby, tune into one of those non-ESPN sports channels if you ever see it on. Like me, you'll have no fucking clue what's going on, but it's still mesmerizing to watch these huge gorillas bodyslamming each other with no pads.
In fact, I'm almost tempted to respect rugby more than American football due to the fact that they don't even bother wearing pads and helmets. But then again, it's a different game. If the guys playing rugby in UK left the pads and helmets off and started playing American football like we do over here, they'd start noticing a lot more serious injuries and maybe even a few fatalities, which is the only thing that led us Americans to ditch the padded leather helmets for hardshell foam lined ones with face grills.

The Gators have had some good years, but they do not have the long history of playing at the top level that UNC has.
The ACC in basketball is what the SEC has been in Football. A 10-5 ACC team is a better team than a 10-5 SEC team.

Shit, I don't even know.
Seattle maybe, but if New England gets the yardage off runs by big man Blount like they did against Indy, Seattle's gonna get the shit kicked out of them. Looked to me like New Englands O-line was doing a damn good job protecting Brady, and I'd give Brady the clear upper hand in the passing game if we're grading both Brady and Wilson on their pass accuracy. Seemed like Seattle's receivers were dropping the shit out of passes last couple games, whereas New England's receivers were doing a much better job not dropping everything. So like I kinda said... just depends on WHICH Seattle team decides to show up.
But if the trend continues, and they usually do (otherwise they wouldn't call them "trends")... and I really don't think Seattle will get a miracle from God two games in a row like the one that got them out of the game against Green Bay alive... then I'd say New England is looking like the safer bet.

I bet my friend $100 on gb beating Seattle. I wasn't saying shit when I was up the whole time, then I have to deal with his yelling and hysterical laughter and shit talk for the last 3 mins and overtime. Lmao. Even odds for the super bowl, new England is a safe and good bet..... But who knows.

Haha! That shit's gonna haunt Pete Carroll for the rest of his life.
I was rooting for New England. No particular reason other than I don't like to see anyone win the SuperBowl twice in a row, especially when other teams around the league haven't even gotten one.
That was seriously one of the best SuperBowls I've seen in a long time, especially at the end. That bobbled almost-a-drop but HOLY-SHIT-HE-CAUGHT-IT thing... WOW! Just WOW! After watching the comeback Seattle pulled out against Green Bay two weeks ago, it had me thinking, "Fuck! Is this
destiny
or what!?! Does God want the Seahawks to win?" And then a couple yards from the endzone in the closing seconds, and one man on the New England defense gambles on jumping a pass rather than sliding back to cover his man and it pays off HUGE with a pick.
AMAZING finish. It doesn't get any better than that.
And I think owner Robert Kraft was kinda drunk there at the end of the game when he was talking to reporters and during the trophy presentation. Sounded a little slurry to me.
So now the reality of no more football for 6 or 7 months sets in... and it sucks. COME ON, SEPTEMBER! GET HERE!
