that is a first from id software... and writing it off as being able to work with emulation and virtualization is a fucking sorry excuse...

a quake game without linux support? let alone... quake3 without linux support??? john carmack should punch sync error in the face himself

That's taking a step back, not forward especially with more people using macs and turning to linux over windows. Not that i play quakelive, but I was able to download it months ago and run fine in linux just to have a muck with it.

Meh.  I've still got Q3A and the tons of stuff it supports.  Never had an interest in QL.  but, from reading the article, why not blast Google & Mozilla.  If the article is true and they're planning on ditching plugins and what not (I assume for their own integrated stuff), they're the ones to blame.  It would be like blaming Newgrounds for making all their flash games a standalone now instead of waiting until Google & Mozilla ditch Flash.

On the plus side, maybe it will be moddable.

Quake Live was going down hill before but now it's just free falling entirely. The reasons for this are sound (No plugin support) but that has nothing to do with not supporting cross platform. You know they don't give a fuck anymore when it comes to this.
