Muerte's got a point -- I also had a feeling it was a bit too cramped. The narrow stairways are an easy fix, the rest will take a bit longer but it should all be fixable in the end. Already improved quite a few things. Btw look out for some misplaced clipping by the HB!

Watched to much 4x4 team play on this map q2campgrnds (example in attachment ) and played to much in q2/q3/ql  ;)
But on second thought since 4x4 is mostly dead this could be smaller version for duel only
You only need to fix items like in pro-q3dm6 from my previous post.

PS in attachment also my duel texture for q2campgrnds/pro-q3dm6 (didn't like original textures)

dm6 is a horrid 4v4 map anyway...

works great for 2v2 though

then again... some quake players are just weird, can't believe euros play 4v4 on dm7 *shudders*

would love to see some q4 map love because q4 had AWESOME maps, but they just don't have the same feel in q2 :( there is already a monsoon conversion

though q3 is more popular so the q3 maps are more likely to see play :) can't think of anything better than bloodrun and campgrounds, so good on the muffin

everyone played dm7 4v4 because it is a good 4v4 map, you are so out of the loop when it comes to the days of old, please don't speak upon them.

Another Q4 map I really liked was Placebo Effect, but I guess ohmdm4 has enough of a similar layout to not to warrant a remake over other Q4 maps.

i agree with ad in preferring duel over 4v4.. you see alot more of the former. i guess if you REALLY wanted, you could make a bigger version of it, but meh

Beta v2 will have more appropriate scaling, clipping issues fixed, more refined geometry and improved lighting. From there it all depends on the feedback I get from it.

revision q2campgrnds/pro-q3dm6 r little over sized for quake2 so mapper added two jump pads on rail and rl bridge (if ur noticed)

About item placement for q2 duel imho best is from q3dm6tmp version of q3dm6
MegaHelth instead quad
Yellow armor instead Red armor

since quake2 is not quakelive

hit a fucking rediculous rail in this demo..forget what the time is  :help:


my first impressions of the map...the scaling it a bit small..the amount of rocket ammo seems a bit limited, there should be like 2 bullet packs by the chain spawn (getting chain spawn and only having 50 bullets is dumb)...I like the idea of turning red into yellow..the map is very one-sided, if you are in control you don't even need to venture to that side of the map at all..I get weird frame drops in r1ql...other than that, it is pretty bad ass, rock on muffin

i like how you come every 6 months or so and bring us a remake of a famous q3/ql map, i haven't tried this map yet in q2 but looks nice from the screen-shots.

i suggest making a version of toxicity in q2 ( with maybe CG instead of LG ) but for now focus on campgrounds and try to make it better :P

It has been idling on my HD for a few months now. Almost finished resizing and refining it but the last couple of changes need some complicated work on the structure in order to not break the gameplay, so it killed off some of the motivation. My free time has been lacking as of late... on the plus side I have almost finished an alpha layout of Furious Heights.

I think there's a tourney entity override included in the map download... that one has a mega in place of quad. Not sure if I did a TDM version or not but either way I'm not exactly sure how to approach a TDM layout in Q2 since it's quite a different beast of sorts.

reason why im asking about map fix. override works fine on r1q2 servers in USA but not on q2pro servers in europe...
