His motive was his blackness letting other blacks know that he's still with the black people and Obama wanted to feel more black.

adren, if you write any more intelligently, I wont be able to understand you.

Let's just break this down a bit shall we? The amateur writing is really starting to show. The fragmented sentences and corrupted logic is glaring.

all I asked was "really?" ....
I said that because even if you disagree with the aforementioned motive, it's just sort of astounding that you can't see what it is

Adjective: Aforementioned
Denoting a thing or person previously mentioned.

The whole point of the past several comments was for you to explain "the real motive." You cannot use the word aforementioned when you have not previously described a motive up until this point junior.

Especially someone who goes out of their way to state what classes they've taken in college to up their credibility(criminal justice) or undermine someone else's(one missed out on a college english class..)..
Trolling garbage

being that perceiving agenda and motive behind the actions of politicians is not only something you'd learn in intro to american gov't/poly sci/a decent high school, but it's also common sense.
So, not only are you claiming to know what every politician is thinking and the absolute truth behind all political issues, you claim its common sense.
If you really are this smart, why aren't you on tv helping the rest of us understand what happened in Ben Gazi? Or whether or not the president himself ordered the IRS inquiry into tea party non profits.
Please, Lord Haunted, explain, and while youre at it, why is the administration trying to restart peace talks between israel and the palestinians when theyve failed a billion times? And also, why hasn't the united states pressed russia even further on the nsa snowden matter? After all, its just common sense. And since I have your attention oh great haunted, can you please explain what really happened on 9/11. In fact why the hell do we even have news networks, we should just put haunted on television to tell everyone whats going on

Concerning how public opinion is shaped, people don't like to be informed about something they've already developed an opinion about, nor do they like admitting that this is true.
So finally, despite your attempts to claim an aforementioned motive, this is it huh? You believe President Obama came on television in order to shape and sway public opinion to side with Trayvon martin... You are as narrow minded as I have expected.

The president did not go on television to take sides junior. He came on television to bridge the gap between the two sides, and personalized the speech with "I could have been trayvon martin 30 yrs ago," to help the truly ignorant [haunted], or otherwise racist elements of society understand why people were upset and out demonstrating, and possibly help people broaden their empathy towards the situation.  And finally he tried to find some closure with this case. If you really did watch the video, he said we are still not yet living in a race free nation, but we are improving and becoming a better union.

Haunted: retake writing 101 and get your head out of your ass.

His motive was his blackness letting other blacks know that he's still with the black people and Obama wanted to feel more black.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04Ngc0mMx-U

Derek Vinyard's interview pretty much sums it up.

After watching that video, rk, it has been further proved to me that you infact are a racist mass murdering psychopathic son of a bitch, worthy of shipment to Guantanamo Bay. How in the hell can you post that link and then stand by it? Are you that divided when it comes to different ethnicities and view white people as being hard working tax payers and everyone else as trouble makers and welfare trash? At least focalor has a legitimate reason to like his confederate flag. You have nothing to fall back on with this bullshit link. What world are you living in? 1950? Open your mind you psycho, or at least travel and get some culture inside of you. Whether you like it or not, White Power is over, its all about diversity now. Keep thinking this way, and you'll be back in prison in no time.

i must agree.

Translation: it wasn't necessary nor helpful. The trial is over and done with. even now, more charges want to be tacked onto him to fan the flames even more.

The press will keep this Trayvon thing going as long as they can.  The press wants this as bad as the weather people want hurricanes.  :raincloud:

Obama's speech did not help, he stirred the pot more with these comments. (My thoughts on the end)
1 - There has been a racial inequality in the application of the laws.  (Black people have been wronged by the White system)
2 - Violence, poverty, and disfunction are caused by an violent past. (White people are the cause of the problems of today)
3 - History doesn't go away. (Black people keep holding that grudge)
4 - If Trayvon was a white kid, the outcome might have been different. (White people are screwing you again)

The last thing I need is the President telling me that I am responsible for the problems within the black community.

Despite what the presumptuous ass who wrote that article said, I personally wouldn't view civil rights charges SPECIFICALLY as being "double jeopardy" and unconstitutional. If they tried him again for murder or manslaughter charges, THAT would be unconstitutional. Personally, I'm glad the federal government has elected to listen to the people (even if those people are fucking brainless idiots) and decided to investigate the possibility of civil rights violation charges. I have little confidence that they will be able to discover evidence making it possible for them to file any such charges, at which point they'll be able to stand before the people like Pilate declaring that "I find no fault in this man." If at that point the people still insist that they crucify him, it'll be entirely up to the government to make the next move. They'll have two options:

1. Either they can listen to the angry mob and appease them by re-trying him for the same alleged crime after acquittal, effectively pissing on the Constitution in the plain sight of everyone. This will create a SECOND angry mob of those who disapprove, and possibly result in widespread civil unrest and violence.

or

2. They can stand before the nation declaring that they will continue to uphold the Constitution. This will no doubt make the mob angry, may lead to civil unrest, and they will deal with any resulting problems as they occur.

No doubt they realize this and if they have any rational brain cells left in their heads, they will opt for #2. Any kind of two-faction armed rebellion would be highly dangerous for the still-fragile economy as well as for national security.

what it sounds like you're describing is a conspiracy by the government to intentionally or unintentionally create chaos. We will see exactly what we are seeing now. protests and people for the most part going back to their normal lives. people know what is at stake. not all of them are stupid. unless other things are thrown into the mix. it's a mess indeed and no sign of being cleaned up.  just a bunch of inexperienced cleaning men..

As much as it does get tiring hearing about this kind of shit from black people, it is equally incorrect to simply tell black people to have a "get over it" attitude about it.  I knew that at the beginning of Obama's presidency, there would probably be something like this go down that would make him feel compelled to make a speech on the issues surrounding the black community.

Upon reflection of what he actually said, he isn't really blaming whites for the past, although it is absolutely true that whites of the pre-civil rights era are the reason blacks are fucked today.  More precisely, he's blaming the status quo of how young black males are viewed in this society, and how they're basically given a pretty shit-end of the stick to play ball with.  And he is right; as a society, we don't value young black males as much as we value white males for absolutely sure.  There is no denying that fact.  Simply thinking about the gut reactions of the young black males vs. young white males automatically evokes some conclusions, before even considering the person they actually are.  To put this on an even grander scale, white/asian males are never really fucked with by police when they're young.  Even Hispanics aren't directly targeted as much as blacks (they are quite a bit more than whites of course, but nowhere near the level of blacks).

Really, Obama was simply stating how things are, and that it needs a lot more work, because as it stands, young black males have very little to look forward to in this life.  And all of us, from the whites to the blacks themselves, are responsible for this.  Yes, absolutely black parents have a hand in this, and it's a well-known fact that they don't raise their boys very well, which adds even more weight on a young black man's shoulders.  Racism, hatred for the system, and reinforced ignorance is what many young black males see from their parents.  Case in point:  I have a black friend named Raymond, and every time I chill with him, if his mother is around, she always brings out the fact that I'm a white man hanging out with a black man, as if there's something pretty goddamn wrong with that.  She even called me "honkey" once...I was not pleased with her.  But at the same time, I feel sorry for my friend, because he is trying to fight the urge to follow the shit his mother feeds him, and hate all white people.  He knows I think racism is bullshit in general, but this society does not really agree, not privately anyway.  Sucks but it's the shitty truth about the U.S.

Basically, all of us do have a lot more work to do to prove to black people that they truly are equal in this society.  The arrest rates and profiling shows that blacks are not equal.  Yes, blacks themselves are part of the problem (as I mentioned the story above about Raymond's racist mother), but whites cannot deny that we hold a big part in this as well.  Hell, it's so bad even Mexicans hate the blacks.  Like my friend Jose says, "There's too many n!ggers moving in around here, I gotta move more up north with the white people."  It's terrible but it's how it really is.

I would hesitate to lay the blame squarely on whites OR blacks for the urban crime situation. You can take it at face value by examining statistics, but there is still root cause, and that root cause is the government itself and it's poorly crafted policies. It's kinda ironic that what people refer to as discrimination is taking place due to the indiscriminate nature of the policies in the "war on drugs". I think Mexico is a shining example of how the war on drugs ends up making things worse. Since they began mobilizing the Mexican army to police the country, cartel violence has exploded into the streets to where it's become a common daily occurrence. Not only are they dealing with increasing drug addiction rates and it's related consequences, but now they have far more violence because of it too.

People living in dire situations make the mistake of becoming marginally involved in the drug trade. They start as regular average people and are sometimes ushered into a situation where they are made to become the more violent participants in the game, and those are obviously the ones that deserve hard time. But others simply mule the shit to make a few bucks to provide for themselves and their families. They get pinched for it, are thrown in jail with mandatory minimum sentences, get slapped with the label of "felon", and while they are in prison they have no opportunity to learn any skills that will allow them to become a self-supporting member of society. They have little opportunities outside of seeking illegal activities to support themselves. When they are finally released, they have even FEWER opportunities in life than they had before they went in. And usually while they are in prison NOT learning anything useful to being a law abiding member of society, they instead learn how to become more of a criminal. It's a very short-sighted and boneheaded approach to the question of crime and drugs.
