Anyone here tried this ladder yet?
« on: May 14, 2013, 08:13:29 AM »
http://esreality.com/post/2420284/quakeworld-ladder/

They made a ladder for Q2 and I see that Welkin tried it already. Seems like an interesting idea but the test servers are in Europe and I guess you have to sign up for that which is a minus for the NA scene.

Personally I'd rather see something like QLRanks added to this ladder and in general.

Ladders won't work anymore, game's too old.  Cups are far more ideal at this point.

It might work in Europe.

Speaking of cups, I was thinking of throwing an impromptu quick cup, probably on one day like a Sunday afternoon for a little cash too. That will probably will fail too though.

I offered $200 + any of the other donations, which there were several, for a 2v2 cup a year ago. I figured an 8 team cup with a bit of money with UJSA-only entry would be an incentive for people to play, but I was wrong. ah!/pyr3x, me/adrenal1ne, and dahang/naymlis  and two other teams signed up. This was severely disappointing; I have my theories as to why people who wanted to play initially and practiced competitively 24/7 in pubs for months on end found an out when the time came, but i'll let everyone use their imagination.

If I were you, I wouldn't even agree to float any money yet barton. I think me and adrenaline not teaming would be more of an incentive than cash prizes to some people, unfortunately(hypothetically, I know this is a duel cup or ladder thing).

Yeah those donations were high before. Flesh was gonna drop down something crazy like 500 bucks, but I was willing to put down like $150 for that 2v2. The incentive was more high because running a tdm tourney is way more difficult and requires more players. For this cup, it is gonna be way less. Just pocket change.

Yeah Adren, your actual prize money from gaming means shit.  Jaqueero's pub screen shots of tf2 while playing the simplest class offered, now that's something.
