I had a great great great grandfather had an older brother who was part of the Cavalry Corps under Nathan Forrest with the Army of Tennessee. My great-great-great-grandfather himself was part of one of the many Georgia state militias that later came under command of the Army of Tennessee as they withdrew south through northern Georgia. He was eventually killed just north of Atlanta while attempting to repel the invading Union army from the city.

GRAVEDIGGER is from north cackalacky, specifically the northern outer banks(or, directly inshore of them, currituck, NC)... close to where I grew up. They tried to buy my mom's volvo station wagon from her a few years back so they could run it over. They offered the price she was asking(very cheap, 1-1.5k or so) but she was more inclined to help someone out instead haha.

Yep, NC is probably the mecca of manly auto racing in its many forms and the home of NASCAR. I believe Dale Earnhardt lived in North Carolina, and that alone makes it one of the manliest territories in the entire world. I remember several years back when I was a teen, probably 94 or 95, my dad and I went to the Superbowl of Motorsports held at the Georgia Dome. All of the great trucks from Monster Jam were there. Bigfoot, Bearfoot, Carolina Crusher, and of course Grave Digger. Naturally Grave Digger won the contest, after which Dennis Anderson performed one of the greatest freestyle runs I've ever seen. He rolled it a few times (possibly on purpose), but ended up back on the wheels and kept on going at it. Old Dennis tore that place up for a solid 15 or 20 minutes, and barely had any of the body still attached to the cage of the truck when he finally rolled it on it's side a final time. He continue revving the shit out of it, digging up a trench of mud before the engine finally blew apart. It was fucking glorious.

Back in maybe 04, I heard about some monster truck thing coming through Atlanta, so I picked up a couple tickets for me and a friend. It was held at Philips Arena (not the Georgia Dome), a much smaller place. I figured something was up, didn't look like enough room for them to run around in. And alas, it was FAKE MONSTER TRUCKS! No Grave Digger! It was monster trucks, but it wasn't the ones that you usually see on Monster Jam. We were kinda bummed.

Ok, hopefully this passes the man test then.  It does for me for sure.  Meet my dream car - the McLaren P1.  A beautiful piece of machinery, and one of the fastest street-legal cars in the world.

The thing that amazes me about this car company is their knowledge of how car physics work, like making their cars grip the ground lower the faster it goes (safety feature) or automatic inner rear wheel braking to allow for pulling 90 degree turns at 195 mph IN THE RAIN without flipping the car over.  Also supposedly has a twin V10 engine block, something new for the McLaren line of cars.  Its top speed has yet to be officially clocked, but theoretically, it has the capacity for a 239 max speed.  Also what's interesting is McLaren decided to change from the old 3-seat design to a 2-seat coupe sports car design.  I actually miss the 3-seaters - the driver would be in the middle, which is actually the perfect place for the driver to be in a vehicle (allows for accurate perception of the center of the car/lane, etc.).  I want one of these, but I'll have to win the lottery for sure, as the price is set around $1,105,720 USD, before taxes and without any specialized add-ons if I wanted them.

There is a faster (or fastest) street-legal car out there, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport EB 16.4, but personally I think it looks ugly compared to the P1.  It is the fastest though, having a max speed of 267 mph, which has been officially clocked.  It has a similar design to the McLaren, including the hydraulics that lower the car closer to the ground and all sorts of safety features almost identical to the McLaren line.  Price is far worse than the McLaren for just a mere 28 mph more - you'll spend a cool $2,700,000, before taxes, before add-ons.

Cockpit being in the center of the car is obvious. McLaren makes formula 1 open wheel race cars, and their experience with them is what led them to design their street exotics the way they did. Much of the body design as far as aerodynamics was borrowed from classic road course race cars from the 60's like the Ford GT40 and Ferrari F330 which made intelligent usage of the air flowing through the radiator with channels exiting the top of the hood to provide greater downforce on the front end and cockpit to improve handling and grip at higher speeds.

Also, at top speed Veyron will empty its 26 gallon tank in 12 minutes!!
