Well R1ch's anticheat always triggers it, I had to add it to exceptions and even then it triggers it for Q2 installations in other folders. (Yes, I have multiple Q2 installs. Sue me

). Maybe AVG's detection routines are just slightly better so it leads to fewer false positives?

Norton sounds like a persnickety program when it comes to game files. I got rid of them years ago. Avg Free addition works for me! (oh... did I mention it's free?)

I use Norton on my main computer. Have used it since the beginning of time, and it's great. I DO use AVG Free on everything else. It's a great AV program, but Norton Internet Security offers everything (firewall, antispam, AV, etc.)

Thanks to quadz we're now running Warsow 1.02!

This means we finally have a great base to build on. It's going to be the same iterative and organic process just as with Q2 Wodx, but hopefully greatly compressed... given it's all be proof tested over the years in low res

Having said that, I've been working to up-res most of our favorite maps so our guys have something familiar to play, and the rest of Warsow community can see what we're all about! The current stock weapons also need to be replaced, so I've been busy doing that as well. They're OK in my opinion, but too stock and plain. I thinks our players deserve something bigger, stronger, and more kick ass!
It shouldn't be too long before it all starts making it's way onto the server.

Yup, just uninstall the old version.
There has been too many changes since 0.61, and the 1.02 has many improvements. We can now run most of our quake 2 maps without crashing.
I'm also hoping we'll not need many more client updates after this, because it's a big hassle for me and everyone involved

For me the objective #1 is to expand the extreme experience into HD while making the upgrade least painful and still highly playable for most of our players, even the ones with shitty computers.
This means some compromises will have to be made down the road, so most people can have fun without lag. The Warsow engine has been selected from the HD client lineup, because it's already been somewhat optimized, to run on most systems. It has also retained most of the features we'll need to build on, while still looking great! We could have went with the Quake 3 engine, but then we wouldn't be able to run our favorite Q2 and Q1 maps out of the box, and that would be a big loss. Also it's internal server browser will make it easy for everyone to find our server, and in no time put us on top

Interesting that the new version of Warsow does not have any way of binding my favorites keys. Aux keys and Joy keys. (from a sidewinder gamepad)

The lower version did.

I compared source code for 0.61 and 1.0 and that stuff hasn't changed, so you should still be able to use those keys like before (unless it's some weird bug)

When I go to Options> Input on the main menu there is no toggle for using a joystick. Just stuff for the mouse input selections.

Yeah, they did change the UI for better or worse and might have forgotten to re-include some old UI elements, but I bet you the bindings are still there under the hood and should still work. So instead of using the UI, try to copy and paste your old binds relating to joystick from the 0.6 config.cfg file over to your new autoexec.cfg manually:

C:\Users\(YourUserNameHere)\AppData\Roaming\Warsow 0.6\basewsw\config.cfg
or
C:\Users\(YourUserNameHere)\AppData\Roaming\Warsow 0.6\weapons\config.cfg

seta in_joystick "1"

and put them into:
C:\Users\(YourUserNameHere)\AppData\Roaming\Warsow 1.02\weapons\autoexec.cfg
