What I am doing,Mr. Big Dick,is explaining an aspect of game mechanics found in Torchlight 2 that makes it more entertaining than Diablo 3 : the acquisition of superior gear not tied to forcing people to spend needless time getting gold to buy in an out of game auction house as some feeble attempt to cash in on the phenomonon of the selling of such things on Ebay that Diablo 2 inspired. Holding that back until the last acts of the hardest difficulty is,IMHO,a bad design decision. No boners here,sailor.

And I use a female model often when playing a game requiring thoughtful roleplaying:I'm a writer and seeing through a specific character's eyes and confronting decisions based on her personality is  an educational way to explore her worldview and makes for a better experience:she would do things *I* wouldn't-and before you get your OWN boner,No I ignore Romance options.

But as for Vae playing one,I can only think of a guy I know from Second Life who uses a female avatar because "if he had to stare at an ass all day when building,it might as well be a hot girl's ass".

But if your "boners" come from Big Sweaty Supersoldiers,Mr Big Dick,well that's okay too.

When I play Saints Row 3, I usually use a female character. I also have a little graphics hack that removes the pixelated blob that normally covers the ta-ta's, hoo-ha, and tush-tush. It don't make me weird to want to play as a female. It just means I like staring at titties and ass as much as possible. In fact,... I seem to remember quadz posting an article once about how staring at boobies was actually good for your health.

building up a 1h/shield engi right now that im maxing focus

going to be slow until 42, but once i hit 42 everything will die so fast the damage output by a focus engineer using emberquake is ridiculous

using forcefield with a good chunk of points in vit for survivability will be great, maxed healbot mostly for mana regen helps out quite a bit as well... and dynamo field for good AOE dmg and charge gain for better forcefield

going to be pretty fun in newgame+

Also, "on the subject of Torchlight 2", this game is beyond bad.  I figured I'd give it another try here last night and was bored so decided I was going to look up cheat codes etc to try to make things interesting and not boring.  Well, after giving myself some gold and seeing how entering the cheat codes work with the console etc, I wondered if you could do it while playing multiplayer.  Well, you can't drop the console down in MP, but you sure can resume your one player game, give yourself a shit ton of gold, quit, then join a MP and ding ding ding, you still have an ass ton of gold.  My brother said that it flags you etc, but I'm not flagged at all and can join servers with no problem at all.  I wonder how many people have done this already and how many websites have this posted so people can abuse it til they find a way to fix it.  So my opinion of this game has gone from "bad", to "worst game I've ever played".  And I've already deleted it off my HD hah.

the large majority of community response towards the game from players of most ARPG games is that torchlight2 is newer diablo2 it is a fun game, challenging enough if you ramp up the difficulty, and has plenty of loot and side quests and cool builds to try... so you calling it a bad game means you are just one of the few who don't like it which is bound to happen with any game

and it does flag you as a cheater, you can't see it yourself but everyone else can see the cheater flag next to your name if you use the console AT ALL (even for legitimate reasons like changing difficulty). ALSO, this is not an mmo, its an arpg, so cheating is just up to you and if you don't want to enjoy the vanilla game go for it, doesn't matter to anyone else

i honestly don't see any issue with playing a female character, just look better to me, and i have always found it less annoying to hear a female voice as a narrator when my health is low or i run out of mana

i don't see any reason to not play one, it is not like I coop with random people online who will mistake me for a girl, and there is no benefit to player either male or female

Not to get off the topic of Torchlight 2 because it seems to be a real good game as far as ARPG's goes.  Also a fan fave thus far, the reviews on it have been good.

As of late, I've been playing DayZ and another ARPG called Path Of Exile.   Let me tell you, if you like to customize skills, this game does it better than any.  Below is a picture of the skill tree window, every dot you see is a skill.

yeah if you check with a lot of the people that play torchlight they played d3 til they got bored with it, and a lot of them play path of exile

quite a lot of really good RPG games coming out this year...

torchlight 2 might have been just a little bit rushed though, doesnt seem they did enough testing in the higher replay numbers with lvl 100+ mobs because everyone on the forums complains about random crits one hitting them from ANY mob... they have been doing very small balances in patches though (nothing as ridiculous as d3) so they will probably fix it

I play a female barbarian in D3, solely because of the fact that she's the 'spiritual successor' to my D2 variant Amazon build (spears only, skill restricted). In any case, since there are ten character slots in a D3 account, and five classes with two genders each, there's no reason not to play both a male and female of each class. (FWIW, that's exactly what I have...)
