I've been locked out since Wednesday this week. Looks like no hope of getting back in. My contact resigned a week+ ago. No other contacts I can find at IGN yet.

So no official "good bye" message. No big last hurrah's.

It's not my choice, I'd like to keep doing it, just no way to access the software to update the site.

So, if any of you have web coding knowledge and can code me up a site with a similar layout & way to update things, I've got the web space & url to start a new id-centric site.

There's nobody to kick! I can't find anybody who can help, and if they know there is something wrong they're not saying anything about it.

I don't remember anything specifically about Lithium CTF. Don't think it's a glitch either, Another admin confirmed the same thing at the same time and Pappy can't log in either.

Don't think so, but it didn't die, it's food supply was cut off.

Planet Quake & GS were originally one GameSpy (because of QuakeSpy), IGN bought GameSpy, Fox bought IGN.

Dunno if this helps, but http://planetquake.gamespy.com still works, at least as an accessible website. Not sure about the login issue though. Maybe email the admin?

Has anything been resolved? It is a shame if PQ dies. Surely there has to be somebody in charge over there. Would they be willing to part with the domain?

I gave up, pappy's tried contacting people he knows, no answer, all the names are removed from the news meaning they deleted accounts (or database died).

I'm working on something new that I'd hope would get more people to submit news, but it's not ready for "prime time" yet. I'm testing it out with peewee, figured out the posting news methods, etc.

I've got my own domainname (fuzzylogicinc) & a friend who gives free space/bandwitdh (sterlingshield.net) so that's not an issue (yet).

I'm currently looking in to forms for people to submit news, something similar to what moddb.com does. So a person can specify whether it's doom/quake/gpl/pic-of-the-day, then they give a brief description for the front page, then they give the full news & a picture link to show as a thumbnail. I'd support html for news posts so people can embed pic's, videos, etc.

While I don't have a TS specific part (I did put a banner ad for TS on there to test banner ads), I do have a calendar setup so people can see when events are happening.

EDIT: Since I'm not in this for myself and just like doing doom/quake news, I'm also toying with a setup to display other sites rss feeds. That way if you see something to func_messageboard about a cool map you can click that and it will open their article in a new window/tab. I've got it working, just don't like how it looks or the way it's interfaced with the user.

Just read yesterday on IGN's Gamespy forums that gamespy, ign & others were sold to Ziffdavis and Gamespy is going away completly.

If you want something on PQ now's the time to mirror/rip it!
