Well in Atlanta, if you bat anything near .300, you're doing good. Atlanta's made a few moves with players in the last several years hoping to find a good formula and there's always been one or two guys not pulling their weight on defense. For a while, they were trying to fill the SS spot with someone that could stop a grounder consistently. Dan Uggla at 2nd base is kinda retarded sometimes, but he's gotten better since his first year with Atlanta. Batting's always been a hot and cold thing with the Braves. They'll get hot, then they'll go stone fucking cold and dead as a doornail for a while, but luckily they play defense well enough to occasionally pull out wins even when they can't hammer off hits regularly. I still haven't had any time to watch games like I used to, but I'm guessing it's probably pitching that's lacking these days. They have great pitching coaches and a great coaching staff all around, it's just that they can't seem to find any real "keepers" for the pitching lineup. They move guys up from the Gwinnett Braves to the Atlanta Braves, send others down for rehab and "training" or whatever and no one really gets in a solid position in the pitching lineup year after year. Except Tim Hudson. And let's face it, Tim Hudson's still a decent pitcher, but he's definitely out of his prime and getting very close to retirement.

As for Heyward, he's an awesome outfielder, but like you said, his batting average says it all for offense. These days, if the whole lineup can walk away from a game with a combined batting average of .300 or more, they're having a good day. And... most of the time, they DON'T have good days. Enough said.

He signed the biggest contract in Braves history (5 years for 75.25 million) and he is batting .146  :grrrr: :raincloud:
I hope it was not all guaranteed, I hope some of it was performance based.

He could be the highest paid minor league player in history.  :lolsign:

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/06/05/mlb-reportedly-seeking-to-suspend-rod-braun-others-in-doping-scandal/

This MLB doping scandle really chaps my hide. I hope to see these players punished extreamly and made an example of. I mean major fines and possible bans. Im so hot! Olympians train for years for an event and one doping scandle gets them banned for life.  This shit has to stop! MLB players sign contracts stating they won't do this stuff, so i believe the punishment better be quite harsh! Let alone MLB has second offence clauses!? FUCK THAT BS! ONE TIME! Force anti cheat and get caught cheating? Ban for life, fines by percent of salary harsh enough to force financial problems and make even the richest players think twice before doing that shit. Don't forget the EPIC FAILED HERO ASPECT to kids and adults alike. What a fucking shame.
Here we go again.

They all vow they won't do it, but the majority of them do. They do it in cycles to where they can pass screens for it when they need to. You can say they're being fucking retarded by risking their careers and livelihoods just to perform a small percentage better, but in honesty, these days they risk their careers and livelihoods by NOT juicing. It's so competitive at the top level, and no one wants to get sent back to the minors once they've gotten a taste of the majors. The problem isn't that MLB isn't testing enough or that they aren't aware of it. It's a fucking farce, they all damn well KNOW what's going on. Until someone honest steps in to oversee league regulations, no one's gonna be willing to stand up and demand proper testing procedures and personal accountability to completely end illegal performance enhancing techniques.

Maybe they have strict policies about olympic athletes, but they still do it too. And they get away with it. Why do you think the US and China win so many gold medals? We both flat out CHEAT the competition in the most ridiculous show of vanity. It's nothing more than a status symbol to be the top dog with 200 gold medals in a year while most other countries are lucky if they can get one single bronze or silver.

Sarcasm - Remove the banned substances list and put everyone on the same playing field.
Everyone in the stats from here on out has an asterisk by their name.

As much as I would like to see it, cheating will never be completely removed from the game.
There will always be that person who is borderline able to make it, who will cheat because they have nothing to lose.
The player who is beginning to age and lose a little bit, they will feel like they have nothing to lose.

Braves are up 8 games with 60 to play, so they should make the playoffs.

Everyone else in their division has a losing record, so it is probably the weakest division in MLB.

If they make the playoffs, I don't think they will get to far.

They've lost Tim Hudson for the rest of the year. Dunno if you saw what happened, but the numbskull shifted over to first during a play last week and had his foot right in the middle of the bag rather than resting against the side of it. The runner came flying up trying to tag the base and ended up landing with all his forward weight right on Hudsons left ankle, snapping it like a tree branch. Shit was uuuuuuuuugly. So he's not gonna be pitching anymore this year obviously. In fact, at his age with this bad of an injury, it's in the realm of possibilities that he may never play again period.

I heard about it, but I had not seen the video.  That looked like it hurt
Hudson was not doing all that great so they should be ok without him and your right, he may be done for good.

The Braves beat Washington last night to go up 13 1/2 games with 49 to go.
I want to say they have the division locked up, but I'm afraid to say that just yet.

HAHA! That actually made me laugh out loud when I read that. Because being 13 games ahead of the 2nd place in your division... it seems pretty inconceivable that a team could piss that kind of lead away, but if anyone can do it, the good ole Bravos can.

I'm still not watching any games. At this point, I can't. I went most of the season without watching a single game, and then the one I do watch, Tim Hudson gets fucking mangled at 1st base. I think I'm bad luck for the team. If I watch another one before October gets here, Justin Upton will end up getting mauled to death by a couple of black bears loose on the field.

Blame it on the pitcher for a wild pitch? Baloney. That was a bit of a violent slider not unlike the ones Craig Kimbrel throws between his rocket fastballs to mix it up when closing one out. Brian McCann would've corralled that shit. Gattis should've too.
