ya, for tourney play, rdm2 should be out... ppl will just camp rail unlike in pick up matches, usually

dm1 and ztn2dm3 both get a bit more rail heavy from 1v1 to 2v2, imo. just throwing that out there since we're talking about rail-heaviness.

my guess is that the 3 most used servers will be nadl, kansas city, and chicago. really, the admin/ref present will just use discretion and see which one of those are best(add up the team's total pings and compare)... if people REALLY can't agree(lame), home/away can be used though.

if dm1, ztn2dm3, and dm3 are all guaranteed, 1) which 2 of the 5 maps below would you prefer, and 2) which 2 picks are the best for balance/neutrality of the map pool.

dfil is the best server. Almost nobody pings more than 60 there. We've had 3s there where pretty much everyone had a 30 ping.

kansas city is actually the most neutral over-all.. everyone, and I mean everyone, pings 40-50 there with the exception of chief(mid 30s). dfil there are 20 pingers, 30 pingers, 35 pingers, 40 pingers, and 50+ pingers...

i'm sure there will be cases when dfil is most neutral though, like I said.. as well as NADL.

Torment and Chastity are way too rail-based. Besides, if it was a 1v1 tourney, I'd love to see the Chastity belt DUEL. But this is 2v2, however.

torment isnt THAT rail heavy, it has an RA which is a big deal, and chastity is more about timing the weapons because people who suck on it generally cant even pick up a weapon, rockets and chain on both maps are very effective... if you are having a hard time vs some good railers on torment ya can avoid a lot of those issues by staying out of the big open area

normal pick ups yeah i can see torment being little rail heavy, but in a good game ya could throw some team work in there to make rail significantly less important

honestly both dm1 and dm3 are pretty rail heavy too, easy to get tons of just easy rail frags through the whole map, same with ztn2dm3 in 2v2 it tends to have a lot of really heavy rail play

i just think torment and rdm2 are a nice switch up from the usual maps we play in teams through the day, mostly being dm3 and dm1... torment is a very fun map that grows on ya i can understand not liking chastity though due to it being small... but its still not THAT small, not like playing q2duel5 or aero in 2v2 lol

You can play torment the same way.

Sure you can play a lot of maps all rail but there are certain maps that favor it more and the games usually converge into that scenario. Also on those maps, usually the team out of control will have less options to deal with the same play style but on different map.

If we can't get bloodrun fixed, then maybe it shouldn't be on the list? I think it works on nadl but it still crashes the server on T4.
