i need help choosing a new graphics card

okay, ive taken a cisco networking class once in germany, so i know where to find expansion bays. but ireally just need someone to tell me what i should do when installing a new graphics card. and what kind i should get. i have a desktop PC, its HP. and i just wanna get a new graphics card so everything gaming wise runs smoother. ive never added anything to the pc since it was bought. thank you.

Which HP?

You'll need to know what kind of slot there is to work with,  PCI or AGP?

and I think there are different levels of PCI too...  HP has a pretty good site for just entering your model number and getting the specs.

Type the model in there,  you will have to select 'product specifications' on the next 3 subsequent pages,  but you will get there.

**alternatively,  if you walk into a Best Buy or other major computer store (even a small PC shop) with your model number,  a sales person will gladly help you select the right video card for your system and purposes.**

If you have an older HP,  you will probably want to look into better memory too.
