MY GOD DAMN EYES!!

so i got this new monitor, i hook it up and turn it on. and i tweak it so it fits the screen and such

when im done, i find that the picture is not as smooth, its very flickery its not as smooth as my last monitor
 it gets real blurry when stuff moves around like when im playing quake2
now my last monitor never did this, or it atleast had a setting to prevent this,  i kinda feel sick sometimes, and get headeches from it, my eyes just cant handle it
im wondering if the moire isnt tweaked properly, i was messing witht he settings, but nothing seemed to fix it

my rez is at 1280x1024 and my refresh is 85hz, is there anythign else i can do to fix this?

Gator had this problem.. refer to his thread.. but, in the end he had to go back to his old monitor.

where was his thread, im thinkin i may go back to my old one too. the only reason i changed was that the old one got real hot and didnt work after a few hours
and it never worked on a refresh higher then 60hz.  this one is perfect, expect i get the minor flicker, it was buggin me before, but iv gotten used to it now
but its still noticable playing games

my old monitor had a setting to reduce this, my new one does to. but it doesnt work as well.
just real pisses that i couldnt get a half decent monitor

Hey Xtife - if your monitor is running hot check your color temperature settings. A friend of mine who is computer illiterate got a PC sytem from somebody in which all the monitor settings were wrong and it ran hot. By the time we fooled around and fixed it it was too late anyway. But that's all it was. I've bought at least 15 monitors over the years (all CRTs) and never had a problem. My 19" Samsung works perfectly, is rock steady and probably on close-out as we speak.

i took back this insignia one, and got myself a new one viewsonic G90f 19" CRT
running at 1280x1024 @ 85hz -  its still a bit flickery, and sometimes pulses. but its not as bad as the last one

ill certinly check that color temp setting out the next time i hook up my older monitor, im gunna use it for my comp im building with scrap parts

ya, i was sorta reluctent to buy it at first since i never heard of the brand
