don't know if you all know about this or if you care, but i recently started using the mozilla firefox browser instead of IE and so far it is way superior. Don't know how it would, or if it would improve you cable boy's web browsing but it faster on dial up.

I tried it and didn't care too much for it.

ill have to use it next time i download a hefty file.
One thing I dont like is how animations play, but they seem to flash and jitter on the screen for a minute. (ie the ads on fileplanet)
may be my clunky 'puter

Mozilla all the way baby! Screw Internet Exploder. Every since I switched to Mozilla about a year ago, I see the joys of the internet instead of the pains.

Yes I too recently went from IE to Mozilla, worlds better for me, no popups..no spyware and I love the headline news link to the BBC.
I have been converted, now all I have to do is get Mozilla to be my default everywhere...seems when I hit a link on MSN it goes to IE still even though I set Mozilla as my default!

You Mozilla guys are missing the boat if you're using standard Mozilla vs. "Firefox". Firefox is the way to go. They are separate products, but both under the Mozilla umbrella.
The thing to remember about Firefox for you IE stalwarts is that it is a very slim browser that is given more functionality by the use of "extensions". Flash, for example, is one extension that doesn't come by default (in IE, either, for that matter). But using extensions helps keep the browser less bloated with things you'll never use, and lets you choose whatever you want that's available (and free) to extend it.

Firefox is made by mozilla. firefox is the name of the actual browser while mozilla is the name of the developing company.
mozilla is pretty secure.
I tried it a few times but i use a browser that i coded myself of course, well one that i "edited" - didnt have the time to write one from scratch (that would be a big waste of time when the source is out there to many).

no_life is correct insofar as he went about the difference between Firefox and Mozilla.
But, there is a Mozilla suite that has a browser and other apps contained within, and a standalone Firefox browser. The browser contained in the Mozilla suite is not Firefox. Similar in respects, but different as well.

I decided to give Firefox another try.
I must say I'm starting to like it.
I'm on a cable connection, and it loads pages faster than IE.

You know, since I've been using Firefox (with Spyware Blaster's spyware protection for Mozilla / Firefox, btw), the amount of spyware I've gotten was either next to none, or none. I forget which, but it was very good!
